TV Series

Grimm is worth a watch, it’s on in the early hours so might need to record it, but it’s a great fantasy human drama with an edge, it’s on 5 USA

Its a cartoon.....managed about 10 mins.

I googled it. Didn't finish the less than 2min trailer.

Have you ever watched something you've thought was shit and just before you get rid of it, something happens to keep your attention?

This is one of those.

I must admit, I nearly turned it off after 10mins myself and then I thought 'There MUST be a reason why this has been made'.

And there is.

Fuck the trailer, it doesn't really give you gravitas.

Try one full episode and if it's still not impressed upon you in any way, fair enough!

Thus could be make or break between you and Lisa.

I decided to give the Loki series a watch this weekend.

Marvel have pulled a Steven Moffat masterclass here. Each episode moves along at a crawl, the series plot seems to change every 10 minutes, and all the energy of the episode is spent in making an exciting cliffhanger to ensure you watch the next episode. I'm not 100% sure even this hyper flanderized Loki is a worthwhile lead character, really.

Each episode moves along at the pace of a comic book mini series, much like wandavision and falcon and winter soldier did.
Marvel have done a great job in knowing not to use a movie pace for it'a tv series.

Loved every episode personally and todays was excellent.

70% of a comic issue is slow placed story telling tbf

Started Travellers, on recommendations here. Really enjoying it so far.

I gave up in series 1. I found the acting wooden and the lead was nothing like Bosch from the books, which are all brilliant. It was not good for me.
Agree about the books - I just started reading one of Michael Connelly's books - quite enjoyable.

Since you like Michael Connelly - have you had a chance to read any of Michael Crichton's crime novels? He wrote these earlier in his writing career mostly under the pseudonym, "John Lange."
===
Fortunately, the "John Lange" novels are now available as ebooks on Amazon Prime - a few years ago when I was first interested in reading all of Crichton's works his Lange novels were not available in ebook format and I had to purchase used book copies.
===
Anyhow, if you haven't read any "John Lange" novels - try one. I think you'll enjoy them.

Nice one,it really didnt deserve cancelling and you'll be pissed off when you get to that point.

I'm hoping it feels like it 'isnt renewed', rarher than cancelled. Been told it stops at a somewhat natural point. Anyway, if i enjoy it this much till then, all good.

Finaly started Your Honor. Been in my planner since Janurary I think. Very good so far. Next up is Mare of Eastown, next week probably.

Funnily enough I just watched them in reverse order in the last two weeks. Mare of Easttown one of the best things I've watched recently (Been on a bad run picking duds).

Then your honour, after 2 episodes I was thinking yeah its alright but I hope it gets better. It does! Another good choice.

Business as usual with The Flight attendant this week though, pretty dross.
