TV Series

Anyone else think the latest series of Slow Horses is, well, a bit shit?

Always found it a bit odd tbh. Any scene with Oldman or Scott Thomas in it is great, the rest can descend into soap opera levels of bad, both the acting and the writing. Think that’s been the same every season though.

I really liked Schofield when he first broke through. Really liked him. Thought him a brilliant front person for many of the programmes he hosted, and still do.

However, he met a 15 year old boy who he then enabled to get a position on his show, years later, and then had a relationship with him whilst paying him a 6 figure sum to keep his mouth shut.

If that isn't indicative of "grooming" then I don't know what is
Yeah but Pip and Holls were like family to us all

My partner and I are drowning in the middle of a Criminal Minds watch-through at the moment. We have been for about two months and I'm sure we have at least six months left. It's not world-class prestige drama, like Breaking Bad or Succession level, but I do find it way more interesting than your standard American police procedural show.

If you're not familiar, it's about a team of FBI profilers - which basically means they use clues from the crime scene to construct a fairly accurate idea of the kind of person that the murderer (the offender is almost always a murderer) might be, which helps them catch the criminal before they can kill again. Performances are strong and the writing is pretty good, although the editing is pretty dated in the early seasons. If you do happen to be looking for a very long show to binge I would recommend it (it's on Disney+).

I would never claim for a second that it's the same quality as a show like Luther but still a good watch that I am more than happy to keep viewing.

I thought the first three seasons were better written. This one though ……
Very cliched.
I’ll finish it but might not watch next time. The Penguin however is excellent even if it does lean heavily on Tony and friends.

Loved that show , watched every one from the start , it really deserved better from the critics

Latest overhyped trendy thing for the masses. You could stick Oldman in an empty room and he'd be great. The rest is shite.
