TV Series

Taylor Sheridan must be worth a fortune he wrote or co wrote some really good stuff including, Yellowstone, 1833, 1923, Lionesses, Landman,Tulsa king and I’m sure there are others how the fuck does he know where’s he up to, and also not repeating the same dialogue.

I see 'The Penguin' has a few nominations for 'Best Limited Series' in the Critics Choice Awards.

Farrell up for Best actor (shoe-in for me), Milioti for Best Actress (can't see her winning that against Jodie Foster) and O'Connell (Oz's mother) for Supporting Actress.

I see 2 out of 3 wins here.

Being dripfed the latest episodes of Lioness series 2 at the moment and thoroughly enjoying it which is not something I thought I’d say about a series based around hard ass women including a pouting Nicole Kidman.

Good action scenes, really fast paced and can’t wait for the next episode to come out
I like it too, i prefer to binge though. Does my head in when stuff comes out weekly.

Finished The Penguin and enjoyed it, but not really what I was expecting and not as good as I thought.

I was expecting a bit more Gotham/batman relation but it was really nothing at all to do with it. Still a really good watch and will watch series 2. Hated the ending though when he killed a certain character and got a bit daft how many times he dodged death.

On a plus side I could watch Sofia all day long.

Personally, I like the fact 'The Batman' wasn't involved in the show. It gave space for development for characters that are usually just side piece/ fodder for the 'Bats'. Now we see why 'Cobbs' becomes formidable and not a joke figure as in the comics.

Ironically, the foes are laughing on the other side of their faces as tables turn with him being laughed at and that's the point of the worldbuilding. And 'Gotham' is a place they all fight to control.

I really enjoyed it, great acting, great story, glad no reference to batman, the worst super hero imo, excepting the dark Christian Bale trilogy - which was excellent.

I'm told that The Penguin is a The Sopranos 'lite' this has prompted my wife and I to look at starting The Sopranos soon (albeit very very belatedly)

The Sopranos is absolutely epic, best tv show ever made in my humble opinion
