TV Series

IMO one the most thought provoking, intense, brilliantly acted, written and filmed series or film I have seen in a very long time. A murder investigation where each episode from the outset is filmed in one take is just incredible and riveting. The subject matter is more the topical and needs all parents to supervise and look at their child’s mobiles and computers, their online searches and influences. From Stephen Graham who is again imo of the best actors of his generation, just incredible and everyone of the other actors including the angelic looking Owen Cooper the young child whose accused is again brilliant. I am not going to add any spoilers, but what I will add is, we/you need to keep our kids safe not just walking the streets but online. Watch it…better still watch it with your kids or nephews and nieces. Then have that conversation.

Watched over the weekend and was completely blown away. As a dad whose son is about to go to high school in September it really hit hard on the topics of influencers, bullying, peer pressure, knife crime ect.

Any parents of children this age and teenagers and young adults I implore you to watch this and then have conversations with your children about these topics. My ex has watched it and said the same and we're going to sit down with my lad and talk about thses topics next week.

It's absolutely magnificent

Can someone help me here please... ?

These "one take" films and series.... are they really just one continuous take without interruption? Surely they cant be? I mean if a show lasts one hour and everything needs to be in place for it to happen, the filming cannot be over in the hour and everyone (actors) packs up and goes home leaving the editors and producers to "tidy" things up... can they?

I think Adolescence was filed in Rochdale and the house used in the film needed to be near the studios to accommodate this.

What happens if they get right to the end and the car they're travelling in gets a flat tyre.... start again?

Anyone?

Adolescence
Thought it was great until the last episode. I understood why they did it the way they did but something jarred. The last 10 minutes or so spoilt it for me, even though the acting was really good. Felt a bit contrived and as if I had to have everything explained to me that would have been better done in a different way.
Sometimes less is more.
The third episode was fantastic though, so much being said without hammering it home. Wished they had carried on with that dynamic.

These are never done "in one take". Too many things can go wrong, depending on whether the filming is in one position or moves around.

If it moves around, there's edits done where there's moments of darkness or brightness for an easier edit.

Just watched the Office season 1and 2 , brilliant don't know how they got away with the stuff they came out with,is Extras any good?

Binned it middle of episode 2….not for me

Just finished The Walk In on Netflix. Think it was on itv a couple of years ago. Stephen Graham as strong as he always is. 5 episodes. Very good. Based on a true story.

Wrong. Adolescence and boiling point were both done in one shot.
