Got through all of Ed Gein now. I thought the first half was loaded with filler and had weird tangent stories that didnt fit in, The back half is just full of them.
That in itself is annoying and I just found myself constantly thinking "the fuck has this got to do with the story?" But doing a bit more research into him and also finding out at least 80% of the series was pure fiction makes it much worse.
Found out yesterday he sounded absolutely nothing like the weird. Annoying and hard to hear voice they gave him, he didnt have an unusual voice at all. Literally no reason to give him that voice. All the Adeline stuff was made up, pretty much the entire last 3 episodes were complete fiction. Such a massive disappointment.
Dahmer had a few inaccuracies in a largely true story, menendez brothers had a lot of "artistic license" built on speculation in a true story that's got a lot of unanswered questions and lended itself to be dramatised, and Gein is just fiction surrounding a real person. If it wasn't part of the monster anthology and they didnt label it as Gein's story, it still would have been all over the place but you could at least just watch it for what it is but labeling this as Gein's story when the majority of it isn't, destroys it.
