TV Series

Just watched the first series of Hijacked with Idris Elba. So bad it was good and had some proper lol moments. Don't think I'll bother with series 2 though as its supposed to be even worse.

As always you articulate tv shows better than most I’m pretty useless at it. I’m one usually to give shows 2/3 episodes but from the the first episodes I just didn’t like the vibe of it, for me it’s the writing because I like the main actors in this.

Maybe because there are so many tv series now I’m far more picky? I do give up on shows quicker now than I used too..

To be fair, buddy, it's YOU that's taught me to watch things a bit longer as usually I get a sense of the writing in the first two eps and either stick with or bin it off!

I gave it one ep, the first time, and then returned to it to give it a chance!!

I might go back to it just because you saying ending wise was very good!

Lincoln lawyer season 4. Bit of a step down from previous seasons just because there wasn't much in the way of twists this season but nevertheless an enjoyable and easy watch. This series is becoming a bit of a cult favourite, it's not amazing TV but its a good, solid show with likeable characters that are getting better and crucially they are churning out new seasons pretty quick compared to other shows which means you don't completely forget about it by time the next season is ready to go. Looking forward to season 5.

'His & Hers'.

I watched this a couple of days ago. It's a silly 'whodunnit' open in where it stands early on, but kept alive by the semi-decent C listed actors, and below, on show.

I've never seen a show that's fairly averagely written (straddling on poorly) have quite an interesting ending, bordering on great!!

Kinda confused me, actually, cos you don't ever see that.

I struggled to stick with this, it almost became background viewing several times. if I had stopped watching at any point before the last episode i'd have said don't bother watching it but that ending got me. I'm rarely caught out by twists, they're usually heavily telegraphed but the ending to this got me like no other show in recent memory. Its a tall ask to recommend the show based purely on the ending but its definitely a show i'll remember for a decently long time purely because of the ending, whereas much better shows will be completely forgotten.

Yeah, I completely concur. Whilst there's elements you think 'Nah!' overall it's really good and, as you say, it's just not on the cards normally!

Originally I'd written that I thought the show was written backwards and scrubbed it, but I'm gonna maintain that thought now knowing that it's from a book that must have run the process backwards to build the story.

It is...mainly down to the fact I still can't get over the second series exclusively set on the Berlin metro, yet everyone speaks perfect English which makes Idris's life easy during the whole drama.

Another one for SMALL PROPHETS.

If you liked The Detectorists then you’ll love this.

Just a gentle, nice, dry comedy. (Filmed around here as well).

8/10.

Edit - We are a global forum these days aren’t we, ha, Urmston and Stockport is where it was filmed.

Started 12 Monkeys based on recommendations on here and finished Series 1. Its good but my god it gets confusing at times. I think at times it flicks between time frames so quickly its hard at times to figure out which timeline is interacting with which timeline. Will power on with series 2.
Not what your future self said last week.
