"twitchers thick son talks crap"

I thought the dig at the Academy was harsh!
As far as Redknapp is concerned if they are not in dight then they are out of mind!
Forgetting all the former academy players playing outside the Prem, he should have acknowledged:

SWP (QPR)
Sturridge (Chelski)
Boyota (Bolton)
Gudietti (Feyenord)

The guy is simple!

-- Mon Sep 26, 2011 4:40 pm --

just watching the game again, big Joe buzzing about the new etihad camp, redknapp pipes up and says"its alright having a state of the art training facility but you need to produce players, city have only onuoha and Richards"
OK, OK, so for a second, let's assume he's literally being literal here, he's not wrong is he. It's precisely the reason why we want a state of the art training facility and youth academy, because we want to produce players good enough for where we are now, and only Onouha and Richards are at City and good enough for where we are now.

Needless to say, should we get this new facility, we'll be producing a hell of a lot more players.

So he's right, surely?

We definitely need to develop more of our own youth players though. You look at the likes of Rooney, Smalling, Hernandez, Jones and De Gea at the rags and realise we're well behind in this department.
And the Da Silva twins.

And don't forget Denis Law! He was kicking a ball at The Cliff when Colin Bell was playing for his primary school.

He has a point though.

Apart from Richards, there isn't many others playing for us from the youth. Onouha is way off the first team. I class Hart as one, even though we signed him when he was about 18, we made him. If you sign an unknown teenager for under a million and make him world class, you can class him as a product of your club.

With Razak and Rekik coming through and looking promising, hopefully there will be a few more coming through the youth, which is always good to see.
we bought hart at 16

Rednap blew his front when Summerbee quick-fire replied (after Rednapp had smuggly remarked ('so they should with the money they've spent') negatively on a fine City performance, Mike asked him to chat about the money his mob (tooting) had spent and he did;nt look very Fonzy. Cheeky twat....know a kid that grafts with him....cheeky twat.

He was actually 19 when he signed and had already played over 50 first-team games for Shrewsbury. And the total fee payable was over £1m.

As I said before, there is no way he can be classed as being our own product, even if we use CityFan94's criteria.

Maybe he wasn't a product of our youth then lol, but Joe Hart's transfer was one of the best in the last ten years imo. And City should take a LOT of credit for him, they built him up. Turning a Legaue two goalkeeper into what he is today...very impressive!

Redknapp talks about Chicharito being the "signing of the decade", how about England's number one and one of the top three young goalkeepers in the world for just over a million. He could play for City at the very top for anther 15 years too. Unbelievable signing that was.

Has someone contacted Richard Keys? He just hit back at Redknapp on Talksport. 70 City Academy graduates currently playing professional football. £55million received by us in transfer fees.
