Two anecdotes summing up City in the 80's

Stewart was a quality player for us, then spurs “a big club” came along & pinched him off us, how times have changed eh!!
 
We still moaned like fu*k but in them days we had somet to moan about

Your not wrong on both counts, I working in a petrol station in the early 80's Freddie would pull in for petrol, his Mrs always gave me a 50p tip, the look on his face was like she'd just given away the family silver ;-)
 
Derek the coach driver involved in contract talks?? No wonder we forked out £1.45m for Steve Daley, he probably negotiated that too. When he was driving the Finglands supporters coaches I often thought he was rat-arsed, bit of a headcase tbh.
 
Who remembers going to that school just around the corner from Maine Road and watching Willie Donachie warming the players up in the gym through the windows. We were in the premier league then, incredible looking back.

You’d be walking to the ground from the Beehive and the team mini bus containing the players would come flying round the corner from that school at ten to three
