two europa 0-0's & ssn's 2 different spins

its the normal we love king kenny spin on things
nothing new, we are just gonna have to get used to being the team/club
they all love to hate.

Prepared for a slating, but fuck it anyway.

Liverpool haven't spent what we've spent, only to go to Aris and draw.
With the money we have spent, and the first team available on Tuesday, not to mention Balotelli being on the bench, we should have gone out there and won and that is how these media bods look at it too.
Liverpool, its fair to say, have a much, much weaker first 11/squad than us but yet they were able to go away in Europe and draw. That too is how the media will look at it.
Not expecting anyone to agree, but that's pretty much the way it is.(imo)

a "very good Sparta team". Then went on to point out that 2 of Sparta's players were with Reading last season and another had had a trial with Milton Keynes in the summer.

That's the answer then - we've been Clarkied by the press. "A trial at MK?", it's clearly meant to be satirical!

I agree with you mate. We have spent the money, and couldn't do it- that is how the media will view it. Yes, they will put spin on the two results, as they like to really put pressure on us and pick up on every failing, but we shouldn't give them that opportunity, because we should have been better. It is a bit of a joke if they have spun it as much as that, but their spin doesn't detract from the fact that it was a disappointing result from city.

FFS!!

People need to seriously get over what we've spent and treat the team and manager on merit. Drawing away from home in a 2 legged European knockout game is never a bad result.

This obsession with how much we've spent so we should win every game is not good. Especially considering the first £100-200m was simply catching the likes of Liverpool up.

I studied media at college and am very much aware of how the media report things and the op is absolutely bang on the money.

I agree we won't, and can't be expected to, win every game. That would be a nonsense. The fact is though is that we went to an away leg against an average team, at best, and only managed to get a draw, despite being armed with a £300m squad. There is only one way the media will look at that, and although I think we will do them at our place, I have to agree with them that we should be winning games like that, which is basically what they are saying.
One thing I promise you it isn't, is a KK love in with an Anti City tinge.

Right, we aren't stupid, we all know the media puts a spin on things. That's obvious. However, whilst not the end of the world, as we should win at home, you would have really hoped we would have won at Aris. They aren't prem level, not even sure they are championship level! If you don't agree then fine, but we need the right menatlity, the winning mentality- winning is a habit, no matter who you are playing. And when you fail to even score against a poor team, it is hard not to be disappointed. And no matter what you say, the money we have spent is a factor, always will be.
