two europa 0-0's & ssn's 2 different spins

ITV always refer to our opponents by name versus "the richest club in the world".

It will happen on Sunday guaranteed we cost £200 mil and they cost a round of drinks and a pack of fags, etc etc.

The media are more fixated by the money than we are.

That's because we are, the same way as they will refer to Barca as the biggest club in the world, or the best club in the world. We aren't just the richest club in the world though, we are the richest club in the world and making it known with out purchases. If QPR come up and spend big, I guarantee they will be tagged as the second richest club in the world.

They're going to be though.

We'd say the same if the boot was on the other foot. I remember beating Chelsea 1-0 at Eastlands singing what a waste of money.

We all know that, we've just done what the big 4 have been doing for years, but we've had to do it over 18 months, rather than 20 years.. but that doesn't sell papers. "Spent £300m and can't beat some greek side" does.

Fuck 'em all, we all know we're heading in the right direction. We're getting there.

FFS!!

People need to seriously get over what we've spent and treat the team and manager on merit. Drawing away from home in a 2 legged European knockout game is never a bad result.

This obsession with how much we've spent so we should win every game is not good. Especially considering the first £100-200m was simply catching the likes of Liverpool up.

I studied media at college and am very much aware of how the media report things and the op is absolutely bang on the money.

Right, we aren't stupid, we all know the media puts a spin on things. That's obvious. However, whilst not the end of the world, as we should win at home, you would have really hoped we would have won at Aris. They aren't prem level, not even sure they are championship level! If you don't agree then fine, but we need the right menatlity, the winning mentality- winning is a habit, no matter who you are playing. And when you fail to even score against a poor team, it is hard not to be disappointed. And no matter what you say, the money we have spent is a factor, always will be.

tipical arrogance

how many PL or championship teams could get this results ?

Aris Salonicco - Atl. Madrid 1-0
Rosenborg - Aris Salonicco 2-1
Aris Salonicco - B.Leverkusen 0-0
B.Leverkusen - Aris Salonicco 1-0
Atl. Madrid - Aris Salonicco 2-3
Aris Salonicco - Rosenborg 2-0

Having seen them play this year, I think QPR and perhaps Cardiff could. Big name clubs don't mean they are good at this moment in time. The Atletico Madrid result is impressive, however on a lucky day there would be no reason why the 2 teams I named wouldn't be able to get an equally impressive result. I would expect us to go out and have no problem beating both QPR and Cardiff both home and away.

Not typical arrogance whatsoever. Maybe saying not championship level was OTT, but I was illustrating the point. They are hardly premiership level, and if they were, they would be fighting relegation, no doubt. You need to pull your head out of the sand mate.
