Bit of a shame that the police were lying.

It’s no excuse for the rioting and there’s no reason to believe the police were wrong in following the scooter, but the attempted cover up will be used by the scrotes to justify their behaviour and the police have been left looking like corrupt idiots.

Like with most things it’s not the original deed that ends people’s careers and puts people in prison but the lies and the cover up.

You've made a very sweeping statement and stated the police lied so please tell me this.
1. Did the police van continue to 'follow' them until they crashed and died.
2. If not. Were any police vehicles present at the accident when it happened.
3. If the above answers are no, in what way have they lied ?

Its because in the minds of a tiny few (thankfully), feral youths should be allowed to ride around illegally and without helmets on uninsured bikes which are often not road worthy, causing a nuisance for residents or in this case, either having accidents involving innocents or killing themselves.

At that point, its jump on the Police back because they are driven politically to do so or they are just fucking stupid, maybe even both.

I see kids on these electric scooters/bikes round our way coming out from between parked cars and not looking. They are an accident waiting to happen and unfortunately on this occasion it has resulting in deaths, whether or not they were being chased caused the incident is to be investigated however there needs to be tougher laws and legislation brought in to prevent more deaths which clearly shouldn’t be operated by minors.

What exactly have they denied ? They have stated that at the time of the fatal crash no police officers were on that road.

There appears to be CCTV footage of the police following a scooter and the key word here is following. There is a difference between a police chase and following at a safe distance. It was a van following them and a fair bit behind.

I think just you also need to be careful of the word following.
If a car is driving down the road and there is a car in front, is it following it? The pedants on here will say that is the correct use of the English language. Sensible people would say it is simply driving down the road. The crash scene is over half a mile away. If the bike turns one way the cop van another, this footage means nothing.
