Main reason I think we were looking ahead to next summer when Walker, KDB maybe Bernardo leave and replacing them. Secondly during last summer we didn’t know Peps plans, third,I think we are looking at replacing the 3 mentioned with players that weren’t moving last summer. Final reason I think we knew about the APT case and weren't sure where that left us financially, plus as much as we like to think otherwise I’m sure some agents were raising questions about the 115. Think there were reasons we brought in a CFG player and Gundogan on a free.
There may be other reasons none of us are aware of. What I am sure about is Khaldoon, Soriano Txiki, Pep know exactly what they are doing and will have had good reasons for every decision they have taken for the squad and will have a plan for the years and seasons ahead not just this season.

Yeh I agree with what your saying, I said in a previous post that an outside factor had to of effected things. The man I want is Wirtz and it was obvious he wasn’t moving so delaying the rebuild a year for everything to fall in to place made sense just for him alone. But not spending 20M on a striker from somewhere is puzzling, Haaland is now going to have to play against Feyenoord, at anfield, Juve, PSG, Palace etc and we just have to pray he doesn’t get injured, if he does we are fucked. We barely have midfielders to cover midfield never mind putting one in false nine and we’re flanked by wingers who are averaging 1 goal in about 15 games between the 3 of them, I’m sure that will improve, it has too but they are still miles away from being prolific. I said before I’d be amazed to get top 5 if Haaland gets a lengthy injury, it’s a big if, but if that’s the case you can say bye to Wirtz and Rodrygo.

Got to be proactive in January is all I can say back to this, not for a rebuild, just secure top 5, as that will be the aim if winning ways don't start very soon
 
for some of the top players lot of groundwork needs to be done before we can sign them in the summer if we can sign them at all. Txiki hopefully laying the groundwork for that as we speak.
Viana in an unofficial platform hopefully has inputs to that process and selecting the targets.

we need young and hungry energy on DoF level clear as hell especially as the highly rated snake Berrada also was replaced by who exactly?

Most of us can see the reality of the situation. Of course we would love to win the league each season but that’s not possible. Madrid even now with the years of state funding couldn’t stop Barca claiming league titles. Munich? Cant compare again. The competition in England far outstrips the other European leagues.

No one wants to be shit. Think that’s a given.

We won’t be winning the league this time around due to terrible injuries, older players who barely got over the line last season and an inactive recruitment drive for a few seasons, relying on the great man to manage to find a solution. If you can’t or won’t take that info in then your opinion doesn’t count for much either.

It’s a bad run which probably should have happened last season but we again managed to find a way to win. The summer market we failed to kick on thinking the players had another season. Clearly that looks to be a bad decision now but and it’s a big but, injuries to key players for long periods cannot be foreseen and no stand out replacements available.

Perfect shit storm.

There really is, we don't play in spain or germany, where there is little great competition outside 2 or 3 others, we have 5 or 6 to compete with, and with an array of top players out injured and/or badly out of form, it's little surprise we're suddenly struggling.
