what do you expect though, we aren't going to finish top every year. other teams have gotten stronger and we were bound to have a bad spell. we'll be close most years anyway.
That's a fair point. We can't win it every year. But his dealings have been poor and the balance of the squad is a mess.
There isn't one player he's signed that has grown in value.
I'm not saying he hasn't made exciting signings, he has. But he's not built a balanced squad.
Under his tenure, we've regressed badly.
I personally still think on our day, all going well, a balanced official and no injuries we are the best team.
Bi put there's no question, teams like Spurs & Liverpool have closed the gap and on a fraction of our budget.
Unlike us, Spurs and Liverpool have several players worth much more than they were aquired. They have high value saleable assets. Do we?
Would we get our money back for De Bruyne? Sane? They along with Aguero & Silva are the only players you'd consider being worth any where near what we paid. Obviously Iheanacho.
He been praised for the CFA & rightly so. But I'm watching Liverpool now, they're playing a young kid at right back away at Old Trafford, we would never do that. Can't blame Txiki for that, but if we haven't got a centre mid better than Zabaleta or a left back good enough for a chance then the CFA isn't doing its job.
I'm fully behind the idea of a DOF, but I'm of the understanding that they're mainly responsible for the balance of the squad. We don't have positional of age balance in the squad. We pay big fees and big wages and I don't think our squad is balanced enough.
Pellegrini carried the blame last season. Unfairly for me.
It was said that any half decent manager would have walked the league with our squad, well we've got the best manager in the World and spent a further £100 million and we're 5th. Not one City fan will be confident next week.
So someone somewhere isn't doing their job well enough.
