in truth the 4 season after mancini man city have stood still and the future was always pep
this team on its last legs and too many players are coasting to the end of their careers Caballero.Sagna.Kolarov.Clichy.Zabaleta.Jesús Navas.Delph.Y Touré am not slagging them off its the truth even KDB and silva and aguero could be sold in the summer that list is 90% of the sqaud for monaco game and its shows
the cull in the summer got to be brutal the transfer market is going to love manchester city in the summer there is going to be a swings of in and outs to the value of around £500million its what we all been waiting for since mancini no more squad players to fill the gaps its got to be a new build a pep squad major roles to be taken up by world class players that's why silva and KDB and aguero will be asked the question do you want to fight for a place in the squad and not the first team
for me the season starts right now for pep and biggest job is to get this squad to fight to the end and get top 4 and silverware players will know what going to happen next season and could easy just roll over and take the piss like last season pep should right now bring in 2 or 3 youth players to the first team the liverpool game is a must for the team to come out and give the fans a show we have 3 or 4 very good young players that have nothing to lose get them in the fans will back pep and them
but a team of that shambles in midweek and we get thumbed again will mean 2 weeks of non club football will hurt like mad

In fairness mate being dumped out of the champions league in such amateurish fashion is probably a good time to discuss it. If someone feels he is doing a good job then they can say so in the thread that bares his name.

Totally agree ive said a few times this guy is very lucky to be part of the Soriano Pep axis and has been basically stealing a living for the past 4 years. Serious questions need to be asked about player recruitment scouting and young player development etc as surely that should be what a director of football should be judged onIn fairness mate being dumped out of the champions league in such amateurish fashion is probably a good time to discuss it. I'm not sure the way we were dumped out could be placed on Txiki's door as that team was more than capable of getting a result. I disagree in that we had been on an 11 game unbeaten run yet not one peep on this thread or for balance, an acknowledgement that those players had been Txiki signings.
We got beat because we didn't show up for 4 mins and for the other 45 we missed some sitters yet again.
That isnt and never will be the fault of someone sat in the stands.

We got beat because we didn't show up for 4 mins and for the other 45 we missed some sitters yet again.
That isnt and never will be the fault of someone sat in the stands.
Agreed you cant blame him for occasional defeats this will happen to all teams but where he is very culpable is how the squad has been allowed to age so much without a succession plan put in place to replace ageing full backs surely that was obvious to all of us as its pretty much been a thread on bluemoon for the last 2 years

Thing is, why don't we start from the position that if WE on Bluemoon can see something as OBVIOUS that it's fairly certain that A) the club will have seen it, and B) will have discussed it.
So, of course to us sat on the outside it looks total madness to not have bought more defenders last summer but - we don't know why they didn't. They may have tried. Pep may have said no to the ones available. We may have been snubbed.
It seems pointless slagging off Begiristain after every bad result in a big game as he isn't some lone wolf deciding City's transfer policy on a whim. We have a board who are involved, and a manager who is involved. Txiki's just an easy target for the insecure and those who have had it in for him since Mancini got sacked.

Five years ago we had 14 players in their prime years aged 25-29, we now have 6. We are either too old or too young in too many areas. We have no full back under 32. Not one of our full backs is good enough. Our goalkeepers are average-shit. Our centre halves are average. Yaya Toure is still the best passer of the ball in our squad and he was left out for a third of the season for being too fat, yet we're supposed to be a team that passes the ball a lot. Sterling, de Bruyne, Otamendi etc give the ball away a lot when we knew that we were getting Guardiola who demands ball retention. The rest of a lot of the squad is young and naïve or simply not good enough.
We get by on the talents of a few players IMO. Silva, Yaya and Kun carry this team. Some of the younger players are exciting and will do the business in some games and getting better but you can't rely on them over a full season.
I think we're all over the place as a squad and that's why we were out of the title race by Christmas and out of the Champions League at Ro16 stage
