Txiki Begiristain

Haaland could go to PSG in this window if Mbappe goes to Madrid. PSG don't seem to give 2 shits about FFP, they just buy whoever they want. And I must say I agree with PSG they really know how to say fuck off to the cartels FFP rules.

it helps that psg's president is in bed with ceferín and is also eca's president.

european clubs association i think

Or hinder it, as by your own admission all the teams that you mentioned with superstars, were in your view unbalanced.

My view wasn't that the superstars made the team unbalanced though. Barca were run horribly and Messi was the only thing keeping them alive. We have the pieces of the puzzle that those teams simply don't have, we wouldn't have been unbalanced if Ronaldo joined this summer or Messi. We just couldn't pull off those deals.

We weren't in for Messi this year and we got offered Ronaldo and decided against it. That might be why we didn't pull off those two deals.

It's the same txiki who brought mangala, jovetic, Fernando, bony, Javi Garcia ect ect ?? Not to mention the players we've missed out on.
Yes and that's why we've been very careful in the last 2 years in particular especially with regard to covid effects such as endless lockdowns which mean revenue takes a huge hit. Money is short all over the Leagues. Got to be wise with it. There are plenty of clubs who are swimming in debt and will suffer greatly if there are any more lockdowns .

Listen this is all fascinating, but can I just point out that Txiki Begiristan is not in charge of how much we bid and whether we pay a certain price or not.

He's the Director of Football, not the owner or CEO.

I'm sure he's done amazingly well given the meagre resources and hard to sell circumtances at his disposal.
Ok so ultimately he doesn't have total say when it comes to price, as sagely pointed out by others, but he has all year to pave the way, schmooze the right people, make the connections, sound things out etc.etc., without it being tapping up, whatever that murky area constitutes (before the smartalicks pop up) and yet we seem to look like a drunk that's surprisingly turned up at a dinner party with shit on his shoes and his cock out

so who’s doing a good job?

The biggest worry to me was losing Bernardo, Jesus, Laporte. If we’d have lost them & replaced them with Kane I’d be gutted.
