Yes, there is no question that Begiristain recruited incredibly well this summer. He's been completely vindicated on Dias, and getting Torres for £21m was an incredible piece of business.

Just right. I have had my doubts about Tkixi but this year's signings were outstanding. Torres a bargain, Dias potential to fulfil VK leadership role, Ake completely reliable.
On the ffp front, it doesn't affect us directly as we have a sustainable policy but indirectly it hands an advantage to those clubs willing to go into debt to buy Mbappe etc. Well good luck with your debts, Barca, and Chelsea's debt to Abramovitch is repayable on sale of the club.
G14 thought they were being oh so clever when they rejected Platini's plan to include debt. Doesn't look so clever now.

I really like the idea of Ake and Stones being a sort of secondary partnership like we saw vs. Olympiakos. Let them build up a relationship and have 2 pairs that know each other well instead of 4 individuals who get chopped and changed.

It isnt all down to him. Its many people involved.

Occasionally they get a player correct like Torres.

However they have also bought Mahrez, Rodri, Mendy, Cancello etc and have terrible squad management allowing players to age and not being ruthless enough with getting rid of underperforming players.

Plus never anticipating problems such as a striker problem.
