I'm the same. I can speak a bit of French, enough to get by anyway, but I've always found them as generally miserable as the British!
Nah, I'm joking. I love France. Being able to speak their language helps in lot's of ways, and when we can travel, I'm off to the Vosges Mountains, a part of France I've never been to before, for a bit of decent nosh, a different vibe, and a different culture that is warm, welcoming and as friendly as anywhere else on the planet.
