The only way to move any object with any mass faster than the speed of light would be if we discovered the theory of general relativity is wrong. Any alternative theory would have to do what that theory has done. So thats every prediction made using GR has been proved by all the subsequent discoveries throughout the universe, and as well as explaining everything we know a new theory would need to be tested the same way GR has been.
Could it happen, I ‘m not qualified to say but seems to me after 100 years of it predicting and fitting everything we’ve seen and discovered of the known universe and every science and technology advancement it’s quite likely e really does equal mc squared.
It may well be a locked in law with no way around it. Not denying that. I’m just pointing out that our understanding is always changing. If an alien race is a million years ahead of us there understanding will be very different to ours, incomprehensibley so.
Our understanding in a million years will be very different too. We may have worked out how to manipulate gravity and create warp. We may be able to create worm holes etc.
By the same note. We / they may not have.
