UCL away criteria - disgrace

I'm a season ticket holder and a member of the cup schemes and I don't think the club went far enough. After all season ticket holders had decided whether or not to join the scheme they should have allowed normal blue members to sign up for the scheme without having a season ticket and they could pick from the available seats remaining. It would give them a taste of having a season ticket and would increase attendance at these games!

Good idea submit to the club for next season.

Because it's these kind of people(not specifically saying Liam's mates or whatever) that wouldn't turn up for Leicester, Notts County or Villa home but still wanted and got priority over those with less points who did go to one or more of those games for the semi and final.

Now, fairly, those who go in the early rounds get first dibs on the final tickets for the tournament they've bothered to go and support the team in.

Also probably means the same thing in the FA/Carling Cup schemes as well, so those semi's at Wembley or away at Old Trafford, Anfield, Stamford Bridge we could get in...don't complain.

But should it really matter where you acquired those loyalty points from? Whether they've been acquired going to the Swamp away every year rather than every wet midweek third round League Cup game since the points introduction if you've got more points, in my opinion you should et first dibs. I've got most of my points from home cup games and the ocassional away game anyway. If you've been going to Cup games your points should be high enough to get a ticket by rights.

There is a fundamental thing you do not understand.

As we get better and pay players more, the club will need to account for that money spent with more and more of our money. Either they increase prices across the board which you would moan about even more, or they can sell of near meaningless things like priority in bookings. Personally I would far rather some rich twat paid x pounds a year to get tickets over me in the 10 games he wouldn't have made than I have to pay that x pounds myself.

In short, De Jong (Or anyone else for that matter) gets a new contract and we pay for it.

True, but we only pay for a fraction of it.

The Superbia take up shows we have more sense than money.

This cup scheme only policy is a complete and utter farce and I'm on the scheme!

Yeah, fair enough, they did warn us but I didn't expect it to be cup scheme members only.

What happens to someone on 6k+ points not on the cup scheme?

Shocking...hope they change it for the next 2.

Did you make a complain in the FA cup semi or final.....? that was the time to do it.

It's way to late now, and it's not like their wasnt enough warning.

i find it amusing that loads of the high point holders have had a kick up the arse. the attitude of most around last season cup final was less than interested, now it's bothering them. If you stuck with the others last season and forced the issue maybe things would be different.

I'd imagine he didn't as he himself probably directly benefited from the club's ticket policy at the precise moment.

I don't agree with the club's new approach to the loyalty point scheme but I've been consistent in my disapproval, even though I too have benefited from it in some respects. I think it's a slippery slope, and it will reach a stage where loyalty points have very little bearing on actual 'loyalty' - i.e time served and games attended.

But we'll see.

-- Thu Sep 08, 2011 10:39 pm --

What was the Superbia take up?

The number on sale to the number actually purchased?

I don't agree sorry, think that just maintains a status quo who were of the right age at the right time. I think those who now get choosy should give the spot up to those who have less points but have gone to the less attractive games trying to catch up but don't get the chance because the established lot turn up for their scouse and united away sitting on years of points because once upon a time when it was much cheaper they actually bothered turning up to virtually everything.

Some will say as low as 1% but no higher than 10%

A lot people who have high loyalty points have been caught out this season because of probable complacency it wasn't made particularly clear unless you glued yourself to the OS(myself included) that unless you joined you'd get last pick at Euro aways. Not too worried because i know enough who are in cup scheme to get a ticket no problem, and if i'm not working away then i'll be going to home games anyway so there didn't seem much point joining. But the upside is its really well publicized now alright so next season i suppose i'll join up and i suspect quite a lot will do the same and the status quo will return and the jolly jumpins will be back in same position as before and we'll get bigger gates for cup games, great result for the club.
