UEFA Disciplinary Hearing today

If they have any sense at all the will drop the charges. If they give us a punishment of any kind then it will really start to kick off.

But the problem for them is that they make themselves look like a bunch of cunts either way.

Oh, wait...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure there are no charges we are waiting on. It's just a matter of them having to discuss it after a complaint was forwarded to UEFA. If there are to be any charges, then it will stem from the discussion of today's meeting.

It's probably slightly worse than Paper Aeroplanes but it's nothing on singing 'You're not incredible'. We were lucky not to be put in the dock in the Hague for that one tbf.
They offset that potential fine after they were informed we sang 'Ireland is Superman' pre CL.

When you list our 'crimes' before UEFA it does become funny.

1. Throwing paper planes.
2. Being late.
3. Singing 'you're not incredible'.
4. Booing the UEFA anthem.

I wonder when 'making fart noises during a speech by M Platini' or 'sniggering in the presence of a UEFA delegate' will be added?
My 5 year old son got put on red in reception last week for a similar list of offenses.

Not quite. UEFA's disciplinary process doesn't quite work that way.

There are a range of ways in which disciplinary proceedings against a club before UEFA's Control Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) can be commenced. One is that the opposing club makes a complaint. Another is that a public authority raises a complaint. And, of course, one is that the official match report highlights a breach of UEFA disciplinary regulations. This is what has happened here.

There is usually no 'hearing' in the conventional sense. Mostly the CEDB works on the basis of the documents it obtains,
e.g. the match report, the Club's response, and so forth. I should have thought that in this case they would also review video footage. However, behind closed doors and without a hearing, it then decides what sanction it should impose, if any. Shortly after UEFA confirmed that disciplinary proceedings had been opened about the booing, a UEFA spokesman clarified that it was by no means certain that City would be sanctioned, but that is not the same as saying the disciplinary investigation is not under way.

So the CEDB has basically three choices: decide on the evidence before them that no breach of UEFA's regulations has taken place (unlikely, we all know it has); decide on the evidence that a breach has taken place but take no action; or decide on the evidence that a breach has taken place and impose a sanction ranging from a reprimand or warning up to expulsion from the competition.

Also, no reasons generally are given at this stage, although the club affected can ask for reasons within (IIRC) five days.

The sanction imposed by the CEDB can be appealed against - there is a separate UEFA appeals body that considers appeals from the CEDB. Such an appeal will often involve an actual hearing. But make no mistake, we face being fined or sanctioned today. And then watch the shitstorm follow.

Not to mention our fans being banned from a game due to the racist behaviour of another team's fans

Has any other club in the recent history of European football had as many frivolous charges as ourselves?
It's laughable that the list posted above is legitimate. You'd think it was something written as a parody if you happened to come across it on here for the first time. We get accused as having a paranoia as City fans but it's fucking hard not to sometimes.
