If I remember correctly, after sending off Evans in 6-1, Clattenburg didn’t referee United for twenty six games and when he did return: a supposedly dodgy decision was awarded to United.

Its been admitted by several now ex refs that if you wanted the big games and they did, they knew they could not upset certain managers with their decisions and if they did, they would be removed from their games.

Lets call it for what that actually is because its basically match fixing with someone like Ferguson making it clear that unless he is happy with a refs performance he will demand he doesnt get games.

Yeh deduct the dippers 30points we will all be happy.

We should go after every tom dick and harry that has denigrated our club these past years - If Harry and Megan can cry foul and sue anybody for supposedly tarnishing their images, then so should we.
Just one would do. Break them.

My mate who called us corrupt on Twitter would be hilarious if we went after him and ruined him. :)

Exactly. It’s why I find the deification of all things United utterly preposterous and laughable.

thanks Kazzydeyna for a mature and reasoned response as opposed to all the crap I’ve received on here for my comment.

I have little knowledge of the law but always felt that if you were in the right then no problem, you win.

It seems, not the case, you need to win by playing games and out manoeuvring your opponent. Why I don’t know.

The main point of my concern is that by appointing a skilled, the best there is lawyer, just maybe, our basic argument of righteousness, regarding no initial defence or simple proof of legitimate funds transfers does not exist at all. We are going to have to fight this on a technicality which, while hopefully winning the case, will not ultimately absolve City from holier than thou innocence.

If you have the opportunity to prepare, never ever fight battles on equal or disadvantaged terms. You make yourself as strong as possible and destroy those against you, on your terms. If hundreds of Russian tanks were rolling towards Europe, you don't send a few squaddies, you send as many A-10s and Apaches as you can muster and fucking annihilate them.

We don't want UEFA, Gill, Liverpool or Man Utd to come back from this to accuse us of something else. We win now. The whole future of City is at stake here.

Why are they good enough for you? Because they're English (and English-trained) referees. I don't think football leagues usually employ foreign referees or ones that are trained by other leagues.

As for European or world stages, there are some British refs (e.g. Michael Oliver in the knockout rounds of the CL, even if I don't have much sympathy for him) but they aren't very present simply because they have competition from the other leagues. If a ref from a different league is deemed better or more experienced, he's gonna be picked ahead of a PL ref.

In the PL you have no choice, outside of it there are other options. Same goes for the other leagues. We haven't produced great refs in a while either (Rizzoli was the last one I can think of).
How’s Pep getting on with Juve mate?

Are you watching the WhatsApp group, see what the vociferous reaction to this article is?

Simon Mullock will be Salman Rushdies flat mate by weekend when those twats go for him.
Salman Rushdie. That’s a blast from the past. Satanic Verses. What a stupid inflammatory title, and in my humble opinion, only had himself to blame for the fatwa decreed on his moronic arse.

Got 10 days I would expect these to be only working days so tomorrow is day 6

you would expect or you know...... tbh, as you're not being paid £20 a day, you have the right to be unsure, Lord Pannick however needs to know for sure for sure

if it's not working days, my advanced knowledge of sums says tomorrow is day 10...

One seriously has to wonder why we have given the likes of Taylor such a free ride
I for one would be demanding he be stepped down from all fixtures relating to Manchester clubs
At least Mike Dean had the decency to do likewise re Merseyside clubs

Despite being from Wythenshawe Taylor has cynically aligned himself with the Cheshire FA so that he can 'legitimately' (arf!) referee big matches involving City and United. For added legitimacy he is widely publicised as being a season ticket holder at Altrincham (at the insignificant cost to him of £225) yet I've never seen any reference to or photo of him actually turning up for games there.

He could, at least, do a "Mike Dean" and turn up at one of their games making sure that he makes himself as conspicuous as possible

When refs say which team their support do they check which teams his dad and brothers support. I mean if my lad was a ref and said he supported Stockport, yet his brothers, dad, grandads great grandads, uncles, nephews, cousins, all support City you would like it odd that the only black sheep in the family was a football ref !!

Couldn’t have put it better myself in respect to the Chelsea and United game:

“... a fake referee-influenced result”.
Hmmmmmm...... That cant be true can it?
As Manchester City have been handicapped out of the competition (in EPL this season and now potentially UCL too), Liverpool have evolved into Livarpool and the new reality of the 14 man team (one of whom is always based at Stockley Park).
