He's saying FFP is needed because the owner might run out of money and then the team will be in trouble. Nothing to do with the fact that debt is what put Bury in trouble.

Debt - exactly
I wonder who pressured UEFA to drop debt from its FFP calculations pretty much from day 1
Isn’t it assured that an owner is prevented from putting £100m of his own cash into a business but is effectively rewarded for borrowing £100m

This is why it is stupid, the Glazers ultimately financed United through borrowed money although obviously United make a profit.

FFP would not protect them though had it backfired and gone tits up as it did at Leeds and many others.

If FFP was there to protect clubs then also why would you punish them with a £30m fine and chuck them out of their main earner, the CL?

Imagine if Bury had been hit with a £30m fine for going insolvent, hardly helps does it!

Delany says our statement of denial is wrong because we are not accused of breaking FFP but of misleading investigators but our statement talk of financial irregularities the irregularities are how we are alleged to have mislead investigators and also we are accused of breaking FFP once you take out the irregularities. Can anyone make sense of what he says ?
