A pan european championship that embraces all those excluded. Scandanavia, Portugal, Hungary, Czech republic, Slovakia, Poland, ex Yugo states, ex Soviet states, Holland, Belgium, Scotland, Wales, Ireland etc etc.
Whats wrong with Lokeren vs Ajax, Wolves vs Honved (remember?), Red Star Belgrade vs Dukla Prague, City vs Poznan?
A rugby league type breakaway will happen sooner or later in my view, hard to say which side of it we will be on though at this stage (although I know which side I personally would prefer as a fan).
Is an English representative quartet of City, Spurs, Leicester and Wolves in a European comp really any less attractive to viewers and broadcasters than a comp that includes shit Utd and Arsenal teams?
Why would great footballing clubs like Ajax, PSV, Atlanta, Valencia, Bilbao, Porto, Benfica ect choose to be in the 2nd level of a competition they have little chance of ever progressing in when they could potentially breakaway and be part of a fairly run competition.
What’s to stop a breakaway inviting the likes of River Plate, Boca, Flamengo and Palmeiras to compete as we do seem to have FIFA (or at least Infantino) as an ally.
A lot of South American fans only follow european teams purely because their chosen club do not compete in the big european competitions, a breakaway league that is fairly run could not only compete with but eclipse any closed off European Super League that the G14 may be dreaming of.
I would be very surprised if talks around this type of thing have not already happened and depending on the outcome at CAS ready to be put into place

100%.

I've said it before, if the club didn't want FFP to exist, they'd have challenged it at somepoint in the last 10 years. Assembled a legal army and stopped it before it even came into effect in 2013.

CFG don't want the Saudi's coming in and spending 5Bn, they don't want Wolves to start spending 200m every summer. Look at the state of English football right now. Arsenal and Spurs can't spend 1/4 of what we can, United are a fucking shambles and handcuffed by their owners despite the revenue, Abramovic isn't sinking more money in when he can't even enter the country. We've got 1 competently run domestic rival. The last thing our owners want is to get rid of something which maintains that status quo.

What the club want is for it to exist as a deterrent to new owners but be so rich that it doesn't effect us, which is pretty much where we are now in 2020.

Job done is getting these charges thrown out because we didn't do what they say and they shouldn't have been brought.

Second best result is just avoiding a ban, maybe because UEFA fail on a procedural or technical level.

Challenging and/or ending FFP is a very distant 3rd choice, at best.

eliminating key enemies and crippling our rivals, however competent, has to be a key consideration.

I don't know, mate.

If it was just in confidence to PB, then I would argue PB would not have felt so emboldened to divulge on here?

Safety in numbers and all that?

Bareda is a very powerful figure at the club these days, which makes his admission even more perplexing.

Perhaps he was just trying to put a few minds at rest, but why go into such privileged info?

I'm not disputing PB account, only that this info sets the scene that Uefa and Cerefin are on the back foot?

Well surely Bareda's head would be the first to roll if we don't win the appeal at CAS?

I'm pretty sure Sam Lee broke this news first.
Anyway why would Cerefin come to two consecutive City CL home games if he wasnt trying to broker a deal? It makes no sense whatsoever for it to be any other reason.
Even in that video he's trying to play the "honest" broker.

He wasn't happy it had been twisted this way so I expect the city matters group will be feeling the pinch soon and have reduced access to the club hierarchy

This sounds far more likely than any senior official telling a fan, or a group of fans, what is going on behind the scenes in such a sensitive subject.

Furthermore, just about every piece of positive news that has allegedly come from the club via ITKs, from passing FFP in the first place to the latest "no ban" news, has proved utterly wrong.

So that leaves us with "Ceferin has come to two CL matches, that can't be a coincidence". A bit thin isn't it ?

CAS will hear our case and we just have to be patient. In the meantime, I'd be very wary of ITKs who tell us what we want to hear.

The poster you are quoting to support your doubt about club officials giving fans any sort of line is claiming that a club official did just that in contradicting the positive stories. Do you think his claim is any more credible?

I don’t think that there is a pups chance of the G14 proposal ever being adopted by UEFA. The extra matches involved would destroy the Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, the Bundesliga, etc.

However if the City appeal helps to wreck UEFA, the Cartel will move quickly with a breakaway League including the history clubs but excluding the ‘upstarts’.

Hence City are trying not to destroy UEFA in the process of winning the appeal.

I think there is zero appetite for this from any football supporter. Let the 14 go off and do it. It’d be shite.

The thing is, it wasn't just 2 consecutive games, it was 2 consecutive games when there'd been no such visits for years. The relationship with UEFA was non-existent before then.

It's pretty impossible to think that was just a coincidence.
And if he was hostile and working against us, why would he, or City, be seen together publicly? Twice.
