Another thing is that City's lawyers should be pushing UEFA for the identity of the person leaking this information.

It's absolutely intolerable that someone close enough to the enquiry should be feeding the press without UEFA batting an eyelid. Apart from anything else, confidentiality is an ethical cornerstone of independent investigations.

Right on cue, City have just released a statement saying pretty much exactly that!

This is it we need to nail all these fuckers once and for all. UEFA, all the sniping journalists and their employers, the hacker and Der Spiegel. Where are all the other revelations they supposedly had on other clubs?

That statement is fucking bang on because no fucker at UEFA should be leaking any shit whatsoever to the press regarding this or any other case relating to any other club. It's a fucking disgrace that it's allowed to happen and I'd be saying that even if it wasn't us involved

I like the final line:

That very much ties in with the NYT line that UEFA are no longer looking at the inflation of sponsorship agreements.

Doe not mean that UEFA are going to back down, but does suggest that we have refuted one line of attack.
