Got it all in did Dan - the BBC understands - season long ban, reputational harm, club desperate to win Europe's most prestigious competition, poaching young players .... loving it he was.

what I don't get is why UEFA are after us, there is a clear and obvious agenda but I don't get why. if they ban us from the CL what do they gain? firstly the winners are the champions of Europe as the best team in Europe hasn't entered, any title would be meaningless. financially it's a minor set back at best, of all clubs we can swallow the loss the easiest. they certainly aren't hurting the fans, we don't give a fuck. so now lets flip it, what can they lose by pursuing us? they would certainly lose their favourite commodity, money. their reputation will be shot, whats left of it anyway. then there is our own "investigations. don't they think that we will respond in kind, once banned we would search every aspect of their operation, we WILL find something, perhaps a club being fined like 10k for the offence we have been banned for. we'd slice them wide open.

UEFA is not inherently after City or PSG. Could be seen with Infantino trying to balance things out.

What i think is UEFA is fighting for survival, as could be evidenced by their rift about new World Clubs Cup proposed by FIFA, and the ones holding the cards are the historical clubs or cartel. They threaten UEFA to secede and form their own competition everytime they need new favorable politics introduced into the game. FFP is their creation and the implementation is following their will and lobbying. It was so telling when they suddenly made the rules softer to ease Milan clubs takeover, while they played hardball for City and PSG.

Tebas went on big rants about PSG and City being cheats and deserving bans from CL. What happened ? Immediate investigation about PSG that started in summer 2017 and finally ended recently with TAS. So more than one year uninterrupted investigation ! And now you get investigation for City ban. It is no coincidence.

UEFA are set to make a final decision over the coming weeks

Liverpool's owners Fenway Sports Group have always been strong supporters of UEFA's Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules which are supposed to ensure that top clubs live within their means. They will be awaiting the outcome of the investigations into City's conduct with interest.

Scouse hypocrisy at its finest. Liverpool failed FFP in 2013 and only escaped punishment because they failed to qualify for Europe. They were also set to fail again in 2015 but some got out of it due to some accounting loophole about investment costs.
