But seen as City made such a point about the UEFA leaks during the initial investigation - pretty much suggesting it undermined the whole process, I don’t think City would leak anything if they’d been successful.

I don't mean in terms of properly leaking something to the press, but City are a big club with a lot of employees. I imagine many on here know people who work at City but there have been very few rumours coming out about a verdict. I just feel that if the club knew definitively then someone would've heard something.

If this is correct, I'd see this as a slight positive. I find it hard to believe that club aren't given proper time (48 hours) to prepare for a negative verdict. Less time needed for an upheld appeal.

But if that’s the case then CAS are essentially telling the club what the verdict is through their actions/behaviour. Doesn’t make sense to me.

The process of writing/getting sign off for a statement of this importance (even if it’s just a one-liner) should be allowed more time than a few hours on Monday morning.

Until you know the final judgement in its entirety then you can’t really fully prep your response no matter how confident you may be.

UEFA are incapable of stopping leaks when it’s good news for the G14 clubs.

I’m an arch pessimist by nature, but the lack of stories in the press makes me feel confident City have won.

Rick Parry was part of the board investigating us, he's now in charge of the EFL and presumably no longer part of the FFP investigation unit. Is it pure coincidence that there have been no further leaks?

And yes, this is the same Rick Parry who served on Livarpool*s board for 11 years as CEO, is an acknowledged Livarpool* fan and is even on the board at New York Cosmos. He's also the one who engages with random Wigan fans and makes dumb statements while being secretly filmed.

I imagine CAS would have said, "we're due to release it on the 10th, so we will inform both parties as normal but if both parties want a NDA till Monday then as long as that's formalised between the parties it won't be publicised till then".

I agree with that, if the club know it must literally only be the top 5 or so people who are in the loop and they have too much at stake to leak anything.

If the players know - their entourage, agents and families know too. No chance.

I do believe the longer it goes on without a leak the more likely it is that we’ve won. UEFA would not be able to contain this if it’s gone their way. It’d be like telling someone not to celebrate winning the lottery.

We’ve had months of this case being at CAS to prepare for both eventualities. If we lose on Monday we’ll already have a plan in place - I don’t think it matters if they give us 1 second notice or 1 month - our plan for a failed appeal will remain the same.

The procedure seems to be that the bare bones of the decision is released first. Then, possibly, a more detailed summary might be released later if both parties agree.

But that's just for public consumption. Ourselves and UEFA will get a full (and very detailed, packed with legalese) explanation of why they've come to whatever decision they have. That surely requires more than just a few hours heads up?

I’m not sure, but I think the full details would take longer to appear.
