I would be surprised if that was the case.
I would think UEFA and City would both want time to prepare a statement to be released immediately after the verdict is made public.
For both parties the decision is going to seriously effect their futures one way or the other.
We will know for sure later today when they pull out two Real Madrid balls for the draw. Worst case scenario for UEFA is if the ban is upheld but then we win the thing. Be a weird one if we couldn't defend the trophy because we cheated years earlier
If this is correct, I'd see this as a slight positive. I find it hard to believe that club aren't given proper time (48 hours) to prepare for a negative verdict. Less time needed for an upheld appeal.
I don't mean in terms of properly leaking something to the press, but City are a big club with a lot of employees. I imagine many on here know people who work at City but there have been very few rumours coming out about a verdict. I just feel that if the club knew definitively then someone would've heard something.
There's a collective mass optimism that's reaching fever pitch on here. Each positive post encourages yet another positive post, its like we're all egging each other on to say something that confirms the general mood of the thread.
Sorry, but I find it really worrying that you're all allowing yourself to believe that everything is going to be ok when in fact we know the nothing. I'm a pessimist and always think the worst outcome is usually the norm.
Hope I'm wrong.
You can now throw rotten fruit at me.
Don’t you think a statement for either outcome would already been done?
It could be that something of this magnitude is being kept to a select few people until the verdict is officially announced and that those who know have been told not to go gabbing to Doris the tea lady, or Joe Bloggs in the ticket office, as we’ll look like twats after complaining about UEFA leaking like a sieve (not that it really matters if the verdict has already been reached I suppose, but it wouldn’t be a great look if someone leaked that we’d won).
And on that note, I’d urge caution to those getting excited that nothing seems to be leaking out of UEFA’s side and taking that as a positive. For all we know, we may have lost and for once UEFA are keeping schtum because of the dressing down they previously had from CAS about leaks pertaining to this case.
