Well I'm all for competitiveness. What is the point of football if it's the same clubs challenging all of the time?

Is there a legal precedence for this? I mean can a regulatory body instigate an investigation based on illegally obtained information?
Surely all they can access are the accounts of public record, which I'm confident City will have an audit trail for.
If this investigation is proved to be unwarranted der Spiegel will surely cease to exist as a credible investigative entity.
On reflection
How does the Times know that there are twelve CEOs of PL clubs currently in their offices, pen in hand, poised to write on club headed note paper,
Dear PL,
It’s just not fair.......
Or maybe they’re not
Absolutely agree with all that....with the exception of the last 16 words. Where was the mass exodus at Chelsea and Arsenal at the end of last season?
People might dislike the CL but it provides cash for us to improve the squad and win the PL. so by saying forget the CL we wil just win the PL...its not that simple.
And if nothing else, the last ten years have been incredible, and every extra day is a bonus. If nothing else, this will ensure Pep has our lads winning everything in sight these next few months.
Are UEFA officials in breach of their own rules “ Article 19 conflicts of interest”?
The rules state “All persons bound by these provisions shall avoid any situations that could result in a conflict of interest. Such a conflict may arise if persons bound by these provisions have, or appear to have, private or personal interests that detract from their ability to perform their duties without any undue influence. Private or personal interests may include, but are not limited to, personal benefits, financial gain or other motives to obtain favours for oneself, family, friends or others. “
Official Nr 1 - Sándor Csányi –UEFA Vice President
Sandor is a Hungarian billionaire businessman, banker, investor, philanthropist, specializing in finance.
He is the chairman and chief executive officer of OTP Bank Group, one of the largest financial groups in the CEE Region and the biggest bank of Hungary.
He is also shareholder and member of board of the Hungary based multinational oil and gas company, MOL Group.
MOL are a Hungarian Oil and Gas Company.
Members of MOL Group include among others the Croatian and Slovakian formerly state-owned oil and gas companies
In 2006 MOL and Gazprom signed a Cooperation Agreement and in line with this the two companies established a 50-50% joint project company. The aim of the company to examine the feasibility of gas supply pipelines across the east of Europe.
Gazprom is a large Russian company founded in 1989, which carries on the business of extraction, production, transport, and sale of natural gas. The company is majority owned by the Government of Russia.
It is also one of the main sponsors for the UEFA Champions League –
Is this not a Conflict of interest ?
Gazprom also sponsor Shalke FC who recently were awarded a controversial penalty via VAR in the last 16 of the Champions League against Manchester City when the system mysteriously failed to operate in the stadium.
He is Also Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors) European Board of Directors for MasterCard.
MasterCard being another main sponsor of the UEFA Champions League
Is this Conflict of interest number 2 ?
The facts seem to show that Sandor and his interests detract from his ability to perform his duties without any undue influence and therefore it seems he is in breach of Article 19 of UEFA Disciplinary regulations.
Closer to home
Official Nr 2 - David Gill – UEFA Treasurer.
Gill is a Board member and Director of Man United football club and has been for 21 years.
With Allegations being aimed at Manchester City regarding Financial Fair Play,
Gills roles within UEFA and Manchester United (City’s bitter rivals) will have an effect on his ability to perform his duties without any undue influence or bias and therefore is he in breach of Article 19?
Further to this Ukranian Andrii Pavelko and Executive committee member of UEFA was accused of corruption regarding football funding from UEFA in supplying artifical grass in the Ukraine from a company based in the UAE.
So why did Uefa took so long to start the investigation?
Yes you've had a great ten years. But I don't think it's over yet. Everyone knows UEFA are no saints themselves so the most you'll realistically get is a transfer ban.And if nothing else, the last ten years have been incredible, and every extra day is a bonus.
Wow. How am I not a United fan?Got ya...no way are you a united fan
"The accusation of financial irregularities are entirely false. The Club’s published accounts are full and complete and a matter of legal and regulatory record." FFP compliance is just about our accounts isn't it ?The question is wrong pal. I’m not arsed about playing semantics. You can circumvent such obstacles without doing anything illegally, but you know that. Read the club statement again. The crux of it suggests the published accounts meet all legal standards. And I’m sure that’s correct.
Fair point but there is a difference....Chelsea and Arsenals players were responsible for the lack of Champions League games as they failed to qualify, our players will have earned the right to play in it and would be denied by circumstances caused one way or another by others. Thier players also have still got European Football in the Europa League and whilst not ideal they are still playing in European competition.
What about potential new arrivals given the choice of playing for the Rags or Liverpool in the CL or playing for us in three domestic competitions only....Come on if you were an outstanding footballer what would you choose?
Man Utd. Man Utd reserves. Man Utd u-18s. Man Utd ladies team etc etc,We want the names of the twelve premier league clubs......for future reference like......
35 years I hear.Everyone knows UEFA are no saints themselves so the most you'll realistically get is a transfer ban.
No point in falling out amongst yourselves lads. Your owners will have this thoroughly under control. It's not as if they are naive chancers or something."The accusation of financial irregularities are entirely false. The Club’s published accounts are full and complete and a matter of legal and regulatory record." FFP compliance is just about our accounts isn't it ?
