UEFA Release Our Squad List for Playoffs (Inc. John Stones)

Here are the regulations:
http://www.uefa.org/MultimediaFiles.../Regulations/02/35/87/89/2358789_DOWNLOAD.pdf

From this I don't understand why Jason Denayer is on the squad list as by rule 43.11 he can go on the B Squad List as he's been on our books since season 2013 (so why waste an 'A' list spot):
"43.11 A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 1995 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with UEFA. Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the participating club for the previous two years without interruption"

Especially as Squad list places would be required for Leroy Sané AND Oleksandr Zinchenko as they haven't been with us for 2 seasons (B List) or 3 seasons (A list).

Maybe it's a factor of it being 2 matches, and wanting to make Denayer feel like he's got a chance. Naming him in the A squad does that quite well.

I guess we'll see if City make the group stages.

can anyone explain to me simply the situation of denayer before becoming mad ??

There is a question over where he fits in squad rules for PL and CL purposes. They have different rules but roughly the same effect. Denayer joined city in the summer of 2013, he was 18 in June (I think of that year). For CL he needs to do 3 years before his 21st birthday – therefore a ? over when exactly did we register him as a City player? The fact he went on loan does not have any effect!

Well thats the best explanation I have read.
It does mean the Ukrainian can't play in the qualifiers though...

Denayer is homegrown or no - club trained or no ??

alot of people said he is not homegrown ?? what is the definition of club trained ?? what is the difference between club trained and players on list B sccording to uefa ??
The definition of club trained is a player that has spent 3 years or 3 full seasons registered at the club between the ages of 16 and 21. A b list player is an u21 player who has been at the club for a minimum of 2 consecutive seasons. Club trained players go on the Squad or A list, B list players are completely free. Since Denayer still counts as u21 this season he'll go on the B list, next year he'll go on the A list as club trained.

Thank you very much

He is listed on the A list though! They dont publish the B list in the same way as it is typically loads of youth players!

Probably because we didn't fill the A list for this tie and it's a nice confidence booster for him. He definitely fulfils the criteria, youth loans don't require a switch of club registration, actually I don't think any loans do and the rules make it quite clear they're talking about registration and not which club he's actually playing for.
