A stadium close to Manchester meets the 70,000 criteria but they may be forced to supply umbrellas with the tickets as they won't have fixed the roof by then.No chance the Emptyhad will get it.

That’s correct. Other than the two pandemic years, the only final venue in recent times with a capacity below 70,000 was the Metropolitano in Madrid (65,000).No chance the Emptyhad will get it.

Even following the north stand expansion, the Etihad won’t be big enough.

Knock down old Trafford, rebuild it with billions of pounds of taxpayers money and hold it there, the new Wembley of the North.
I can just see scruffy Jim's eyes lighting up at the prospect. In reality the billions would go straight into his and the glazers back pockets, the new stadium would never get finished because of cut backs and belt tightening and the whole thing would be a disaster.
So in hindsight, just do phase 1- knock down old Trafford and call it a job well done

Seems like only two applicants to host, so it's going to be between Atletico's ground and Baku...
Would like to visit Baku at some point but the idea of 60k people trying to get there at the same time is just dumb.
Weirdly - in my opinion at least, the Nou Camp which is bigger than both is being proposed as the host for the Women's champions league final the same year.
