UEFA scraps away goals rule.

Glad they've got rid of it, was a rubbish rule (and not just because we've fallen foul of it a few times). I'd bin extra-time as well tbh, and go straight to penalties if teams are still drawing after the two legs.

No added incentive now for the away team in the first leg to attack. Expect more bus-parking in the CL knockout rounds, the main reason the rule was originally introduced back in the 60s.

The problem was that now teams are more confident going away, the home team in the first leg is encouraged to sit back, knowing that a more open second leg is in their interest. Add in that the second leg could go into extra time, and it gives even more advantage.

Its amazing how some seem to think this hiders us and helps the likes of United and Liverpool. We have been on the wrong end of this twice in the last 5 years. Its an outdated rule that needs to go, for once UEFA have changed something for the better.

If we scored a lot of away goals I might give a fuck. I was hoping they would ban cunts scoring at our home games. Now that would level the playing field for the smaller league clubs. But will they? So now a team gets to play an extra half an hour at home. If they are scrapping away goals they should scrap extra time too.
