UK far right trouble

I work for myself.

This is one thing that irks me a bit about the left - the constant whining about the evil bosses? If your boss is a **** and doesn't pay you enough, do something about it and work somewhere that does value you.

(I am politically of the Blairite centre).

But anyway that debate is for another thread.
Hmmm yea the classic line about social mobility without accounting for the structural forces in society that prevent the majority of people from being socially mobile ...

Have you heard of the class system? Why doesn't every working class person just get a better job?... I wonder

Is that not utterly irrelevant unless it was a religious hate crime?

I fucking hate all religions and the sooner they are cleaned up the better.

I wish we would take Singapore's lead in banning ALL RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES outside the place of worship.

Just walk down Market St on a Saturday, Jews, Muslims, Christians, Jehovah's you name it trying to drum up support, all lunatics for me.
To be fair Market St on a Saturday would still be full of crazy twats even without the religion lol

I haven't been brave enough to walk down there in years. Only ever go to Manchester for the match these days and even then it's only to Ancoats then to the ground! Since covid I struggle with cities in general.

I haven't got a parking space for my pit Pony or the money to visit my relatives in Australia.

I'm in my 30s. My dad worked in a tile factory and worked his way out of it into a successful job in insurance. Neither of my parents went to University. I did.

My mum started out cleaning and working in a kitchen, she worked her way up to a professional job for a local authority in finance.

I now lead quite a comfortable white collar middle class existence.

Social mobility isn't a load of nonsense mate. Though I agree the system is far from perfect we have it better in this country than most in terms of workers rights. Look at America, you can fire someone on the spot, very little in the way of statutory sick pay and holiday pay and the minimum wage, let alone healthcare.

I'm not saying people don't struggle and get the shitty end of the stick - of course they do. But the (far) left's default position of self pity does piss me off.

But as I say, nothing to do with the topic of this thread so let's move on.

I stayed out of the other thread partly because I was incredibly sad at the time and partly because people like you were making stuff up and speculating before information was known, to push your own political agenda. You'd be banned if I was a mod and I'm shocked you're not.
He had a long ban off all politics thread but obviously its been lifted lately.

And increasingly, conspiracy theorists

The nearest parallel I can find to how (some) people's minds work nowadays, is early medieval Lincoln when some little kid was found murdered and the locals blamed the Jews, which led to an uptick in antiSemitism. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Saint_Hugh_of_Lincoln

We haven't really made much progress at all. At least, some of us haven't. Same shit, different target.

Mad Max uk..thank christ I don't have kids. It'll be a big booze shop this Friday..and a few packs of bog rolls..peace
