I think this is becoming a bit more than just far right rioting. I’ve seen some of the clips in Liverpool and the scale of them is pretty large. Hundreds and hundreds of teenage kids were involved from the local area.

It feels like it’s ready to kick of massively in the uk at the moment

The scenes in Liverpool just looked like opportunistic scallies who saw a chance to loot and misbehave, rather than part of a wider movement, to me at least.

They are fucking idiots who believe the lies and misinformation on social media and go out behaving like twats. Most of them don't even know what they are rioting about.

I'm a concerned parent but I don't feel the need to act like a ****.

I sat my 10 year lad down and explained to him what happened in Southport and tried to reassure him that something like that is very rare and that me and his mum will do anything to keep him safe. I also had to explain to him why the doors at his local community centre where he has his karate lessons will now be locked for the foreseeable future to keep the kids and instructors safe.

That's what a concerned parent should do, not behave like a twat

Brilliant post. A parent going out shouting "arrest them P*** c****" and throwing bricks at police isn't a concerned parent. On the contrary; they're a fucking terrible parent.

This social media bollocks just keeps pouring petrol on the fire..the hatred on those platforms sounds horrific..I don't bother with it myself. It would send me nuts. But how can we ever stop it..the younger generation are never off it

It's complicated and any answers won't be easy or perfect but it needs to be done and soon. Amongst other things we have handed over control of public discourse to private companies and it will continue to errode civil society as we understand it unless action is taken.

We have a fit and proper person test just to be allowed to own a team that kicks a bag of wind around; a nurse has to be regulated and is subjected to various ongoing registration requirements ; we discuss endlessly what sanctions should or shouldn't exist for drugs companies and yet we allow complex social experimentation (they don't employ PhDs just for the sake of it) to be undertaken at near whole population level by private entities in a pretty much unfettered fashion. It's bonkers.

What is so transparent about them, is they actually want these types of incidents. The only disappointment, was that it wasn’t a Muslim refuge. They stand there, motivated not by grief and empathy, but by exploitation. The extreme right feed on fear. Recruit through fear and need the fuel of attacks to widen their influence.

The actual facts, show that violent crime is dropping and has been for years, BBC news the other night.

My only surprise is they haven’t started wearing Brown shirts. That will come.
