UK Rail network to be nationalised

another Labour "unaffordable" policy adopted. Imagine when they study the details how angry the Tory Government will be with the shambles that was set up by a Tory Government and repeatedly sold to the public by successive Tory Governments as the best thing to have done as what a Tory Government had done was way way better than before..............Brexit anyone?

Interesting how government ministers including the PM say the public has been short changed by recent performance on the railways.... another case of Boris and his gang distancing themselves key from Tory policies... nothing to do with us!

When ’Hartlepool man’ is voting Tory because of the “shambles of the last 10 years” they’ve completed the nothing to do with us phase....

The signalling system around Stockport is so old, technicians had to be brought in from India to service it.

The west coast mainline, still using Victorian engineering no one in the UK is qualified to work on.
 
I just laughed when i heard it.

It is just another con trick aimed at lining donors pockets. The gullible will say it is a good thing, but will have no idea why.
 
I believe the various junctions around Stockport still have mechanical interlocking. There was a plan to replace three or four signal boxes with one and install 'modern' replacements, but it turned out to be too complex, or expensive, or whatever.

So they had to persevere with mechanical interlocking which is 'old hat' and which modern signalling engineers in this country were not trained to design - at least not for complex installations. So there was no choice but to bring in people from India, where such technology is understood.

The current so called Directly Operated Rail services are run by Earnst and Young.
