Got to say, I totally agree with Nigel Farage on Syrian refugees. I'm glad a politician has come out and reminded this Country of it's obligations to those in genuine need of sanctuary and if it has to be Farage so be it. The Labour party is now so scared of its own shadow that it has been shamefully silent as this Tory/Lid Dem coalition has been refusing all requests from the UN, Amnesty etc for help.

Germany has taken in thousands already, yet Britain refuses. What has happened to this Country and our compassion? There are millions of Syrian refugees in the Lebanon and on the Turkish border, in terrible conditions. Britain is always ready and willing to follow the Americans in agitating for war, this has got us nowhere so why not try a different approach? We are not 'full up', we are a very rich country with highly developed infrastructure. We could easily take 100,000 Syrian families. Then if France, USA, Germany, Australia, Sweden, Denmark, the richer Gulf states etc etc took in similar numbers it would ease the burden on the Aid agencies and actually help Muslims for once.

This article sums it up:

Tell me this is a Clarkie?

He only wants to help the Christians now, I suspected as much...

That thought also crossed my mind when I saw the news reports , Farage is probably as bad as the rest of his party, he is just more sly about it.

Well, he probably knew he only wanted to help Christians but didn't want to say it initially but after the reaction to Farage wanting to accept refugees from Muslimstan he needed to tell his supporters, look I know I said let in refugees from Muslimstan, but there are Christians - the good white religion in Muslimstan, founded by Jesus, a notorious white man...

What do people make of this report ?

Never heard of a "Clarkie". But I'm guessing you mean a joke or something?

No joke.

There is a humanitarian disaster unfolding and yet again the Countries of Europe that preach Human Rights are staying silent and turning our backs on those in need. It's shameful. Europe, Britain always at the forefront, likes to lecture, act all superior and talk the talk yet when it comes to actually doing something this Continent always reverts to type.

There are more than 2.5 million Syrian refugees with more coming over the borders everyday. They are in terrible conditions and Lebanon, Turkey, the UN and Aid agencies are struggling to cope. 100,000 families is nothing for a Country like Britain, we are very rich, a growing economy, developed infrastructure. Lets show our compassionate side, lets live up to our Treaty obligations and Humanitarian responsibilities and open the borders to Syrian refugees. Just like when Miliband stopped another war, that great Parliamentary moment showed that we can influence other Countries, in a positive way. If Britain led the way other Countries will follow and all the rich nations together sharing the burden will help the situation immensely.

What, exactly, constituted trolling in the above post?
It seemed both relevant to the thread and eminently sensible to me.
Maybe that's what threw you.
I bet you right wing nut jobs wish you had someone who could put their case so eloquently.
But you don't, so you post infantile gifs and Daily Mail rhetoric instead.
It's akin to watching Paxman interview Joey Essex.

It's 'Farage', Mark.
I can't abide the man, or his party, but I am pragmatic enough to agree with the devil himself if he happened to be right.
What is telling here is just how far the Tories and their glove puppet Clegg must have moved to the right for Nige to look like a paragon of humanity and claim the moral high ground.
Even a broken clock is correct twice a day.
