They've never been Russian. Russia is a seperate country. The were annexed under the Soviert Union umbrella (USSR).I don’t think it’s disrespectful, they were Russian when they were alive.
I await the list of retrospective Kosovans.
So it's @KnaresboroughBlue leading us up the garden path. We were talking about famous Ukranians.
Maybe. I think prior to 1918 especially, people born in Ukraine would have internationally known as Russian.I think the term Russian has been used to accommodate all peoples in the Soviet Union, although not strictly correct.
Prokofiev was born in present day Ukraine but when he was born it was part of the pre-1917 Russian EmpireI think the term Russian has been used to accommodate all peoples in the Soviet Union, although not strictly correct.

Wouldn’t it be better to lose them for a semi against an unfancied opposition rather than a final against Spain or Mancini’s Italy? Both of them are on yellow cards though. It would be crazy to start them both if he intends to use them for the semis and final.
Not what is taught in music. From Britannica.com - Sergey Prokofiev, in full Sergey Sergeyevich Prokofiev, (born April 23 [April 11, Old Style], 1891, Sontsovka, Ukraine
No idea if he took Russian nationality later but he was born in the Ukraine. So he's Ukranian as far as I am concerned ;-)
