Nessum dorma ..sniff ..

Nessun dorma is an aria from the final act of Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot and it is one of the best-known tenor arias in all opera. It is sung by Calaf il principe ignoto who falls in love at first sight with the beautiful but cold Princess Turandot. But that's not important right now!
I fell in love with a bird at Sid's in Stalybridge but I didn't get an aria, just a shag a few hours later. Still together 38 years later!

Fantastic song!

Well done, I thought you played great very calm and professional. I know its hard for fans to let go of club allegiances but it seems the players can which is a positive they seem very together. People can moan about Phil but at least he has played England have some good players who haven't played a minute. I really hope you can go all the way it would be brilliant for our players. I really think you can do it.

I’m a City fan and, unlike the Red Scouse, I am also patriotic and want to see England win every game for the good of the nation. In reality, I don’t give a flying fuck who plays well, or scores for us, as long as we make an effort to cheer the country up and bring it together. Nothing better than having a positive conversation about football rather than a partisan view.

great post. Completely agree. I think the majority of the country think that as well.

I couldn’t care less if they play for city or United, events 20 years ago or Rooney doing something years ago. It’s England now. right now we are playing well and have a pretty likeable team

When players play and win something for their clubs, the first thing a lot of them do is adorn themselves in their country’s flag, covering up their club’s badge. Have you ever seen a City player put a City flag around their shoulders when they play for their country?

They don’t give a shit about their clubs when they play for their country. Every single one of them would do the CRonaldo wink about getting Rooney sent off without a second thought (a hypothetical situation of Zinchenko getting Stones sent off, for example)
This post does make me wonder. Has there ever been a high profile footballer to completely shun playing for his country? For reasons beyond they weren't getting picked?

Hahahaha...the post of the day. :)

i still can not get back into international football and england ?
they do nothing for me because the amount of times they have let us down rooney at south africa mouthing off into the camera. the beckham sending off. losing to germany on pen a couple of times. iceland in the last uero's

i have lost the love for england and in a way its good because manchester city are giving me enough joy and pain for a old fart like me
What I used to hate about watching England was how we always underperformed compared to the players we had. Whereas now, they're playing at their level. If it turns out that's not good enough, fair enough, I can deal with that. But they look so composed too. We're not getting the results with a scrappy goal in a tight game, we're getting the lead and then controlling the game well, even against a team like Germany. And yeah, Germany aren't quite the team they once were, but they were good enough to dominate possession and chances against other top teams in this tournament.

Tried but cant do it. Rag hate too strong to withstand that punditry. Had to mute commentary first half too. Has Sancho a new club by any chance? ffs

there are barely any United players playing for England. Do you really dislike shaw and maguire that much? The commentators weren’t exactly pro United

I’m not seeing what your seeing. United have nothing to do with it for me
