"One of the world's most tolerant nations" would maybe have been better.I’ve been around a bit and would say so, the changing demographic means that may change.

Gay, straight, bi? Who cares?!
BUT, does he track back?!
And, fwiw, why is it males have a problem with their sexual identity, yet most professional female athletes who are lesbians have no trouble, or stigma at all?!
Men need to have a good look at themselves and their ridiculous insecurities.
Because being sporty, particular in team sports, is part of the stereotype of being gay for women. Basically a female footballer coming out as gay is like a man in the fashion industry doing likewise. I had a lesbian friend who played football and she said they had this new girl join who was about 15 and her dad was worried that she'd be 'turned lesbian'. It's easier for women in sport to come out as gay, because female sports are a more welcoming and inclusive environment.Gay, straight, bi? Who cares?!

Good on him. Hopefully it’ll encourage more players to feel confident to come out.![]()
Jakub Jankto: Czech Republic international midfielder comes out as gay
Czech Republic international midfielder Jakub Jankto says he "no longer wants to hide" as he publicly comes out as gay.www.bbc.co.uk
brave lad. Though maybe Czech is a bit more progressive than other former Soviet bloc eastern countries?
Did you not see the Chelsea rent boy chant thread the other week?
Actually you may not have seen it as the Mods decided to take it down given a good deal of inappropriate content it contained?
The sooner it’s normalized, the better for everyone. I couldn’t imagine living in an open prison of bigotry in my chosen profession, and just because of the nonsensical insecurities of my teammates.Talk of a group of players in the Bundesliga planning to come out on May 17th, the last weekend of the season in Germany and also International Day Against Homophobia.
There's been reports like this in the past, that a player is planning to come forward, only for nothing to happen. Worth taking with a pinch of salt. But don't remember reports of an entire group getting ready.

i work in an industry full of gay people as do you, however down on the ramp i have only ever met two openly gay lads out of all the people off the ramp, literally hundreds, probably thousands of lads, now upstairs checkin and passenger services, not to mention cabin crew i would say a good majority of the males are gay, some of them rummer than the ramp lads :) and you know what, nobody gives a fuckThe sooner it’s normalized, the better for everyone. They probably don’t have Neanderthal trolls and bots on social media that would perpetually say horrific things about them though.i work in an industry full of gay people as do you, however down on the ramp i have only ever met two openly gay lads out of all the people off the ramp, literally hundreds, probably thousands of lads, now upstairs checkin and passenger services, not to mention cabin crew i would say a good majority of the males are gay, some of them rummer than the ramp lads :) and you know what, nobody gives a fuck
Why don’t you have a think about itI don’t understand why people need to declare their sexuality, it is a personal matter.
You can’t even sing about gentlemen for hire in western London these days. The homophobia at footie games these days in my experience is non existent compared to even 10 years ago, definitely been a big step forward. I hope footie players can start to feel comfortable being themselves rather than hiding
I've travelled a fair bit on Virgin Atlantic over the last few years and I think you are probably right. Fair bit of tutting and eye rolling from the older generation of passengers but most people didn't give a flying fuck (pun intended).i work in an industry full of gay people as do you, however down on the ramp i have only ever met two openly gay lads out of all the people off the ramp, literally hundreds, probably thousands of lads, now upstairs checkin and passenger services, not to mention cabin crew i would say a good majority of the males are gay, some of them rummer than the ramp lads :) and you know what, nobody gives a fuck
the aviation industry in general like to party :), but as we work shifts our saturday night is usually midweek :)I've travelled a fair bit on Virgin Atlantic over the last few years and I think you are probably right. Saw our crew out on the piss in Vegas a couple of years back and they were "Avin' it large" as the kids would say.
