ULEZ Letter

I am pleased to report your sense of humour bypass was a complete success Mr Chippy. We can now work on your empathy removal operation
Definitely too much empathy judging by this thread.

Where did the poll tax spirit disappear to ? I always thought that the "I'm alright Jack" attitude was a particularly Tory thing !

Lol. I'm actually embarrassed for you.
Thanks, like I have said before Mr K I actually think your heart is in the right place.
Some of the others.. not to sure their principles would hold, if they managed to make a few quid from what ever source.
I suppose we shall never find out.

im a bit vague on this so do excuse me- so if khan continiues and goes ahead in August with this expansion of ULEZ why dont the Government simply over rule him, they do have the power to do so i assume?

The courts have made a ruling.

The whole thing started because the government lost a court case brought by Client Earth.

Could they tell him it’s non chargeable though like they said to Burnham?
Well, they could but, then again they can’t. As they made extra TFL funding entirely contingent on the Mayor expanding the ULEZ scheme, as they made clear in the letter from Shapps, they would have to write to the Mayor and explicitly tell him that ‘they had changed their minds’. Now that doesn’t play into the narrative that this is all Labours fault, so they won’t do that. Actually, they want it to go ahead as they see an opportunity for further division, which, rather sadly, seems to be the only policy they have left.

This, and climate change stuff, will be how they will fight the next GE.
