Unacceptable song

It's just a chant for FFS.

I don't think anyone who sings it is seriously making an accusation about Moyes or Ferguson, and if they are serious, I hope they would do so in the correct manner i.e. report their knowledge to the police.

Just out of interest, what happens to the credibility of the chant if hypothetically speaking, either them ARE found to be paedophiles?
Brilliant ! There's nothing more likely to upset the pc brigade, who are trying to be serious about a trivial matter than trivialising the seriousness of the whole point of the debate with a clearly mocked serious question. Oooh, it makes their blood boil !

Exactly. Exactly this.

I don't know about anyone else, but I always liked following football so I could get away from everyone being so fucking SENSITIVE and PC and corporate all the damned day long. I'm sure that point's been made earlier here, but it is a good one I think.
No. I follow football and City especially because i love the sport and i love my team. I did not latch onto City because i had a bad day at work, i was taken as a kid in the late 60`s and i now take my son, since he was eight. Am i bothered about whats sung at matches, apart from the munich song , no. Why don`t you take up something like paintball, i believe it`s a great stress reliever.

Too many of us have an obsession with the Rags.
Why we need to sing about them is beyond me.

Been taking the p1ss out of my mates at work this week as the rags were singing about Vincent Kompany at Stoke. Was saying how they're obsessed with us and 80% of there songs mention us.

Just glad they clearly didn’t hear our fans at Leicester.

Both sets of fans are obsessed with each other. The only difference IMO is that more City fans are prepared to admit to our obsession. Is it such a big deal though? As far as I can tell, local rivalry exists at every level of football throughout the world and by a natural extension of that fans of clubs the world over sing about their rivals. To take a completely random but high-profile example, does anyone seriously think that Boca Juniors and River Plate fans don't have a whole repertoire of songs taking the piss out of each other?

I will add, however, that despite United's faltering form so far this season I've not taken the piss to anything like the extent that I would if we were still utterly shite.

Spot on GX. I sing every game, but don't bother with songs about that lot in the main unless we are playing them, save for "My Father…" etc As for them singing about us vs Stoke, I can go one better - they we playing Juventus at the swamp when we were in League 1 (Division 3 in old money) and they still managed to sing about us during that game.

That song is still stupid. Makes me cringe - and had a Leicester fan ask why our fans sing it. No answere. I hate the shower of sh**e, and everything about them, but that is like licking the boots of someone who stood in dogcr@p, walked through a field of manure and rubbed guano into it. Shameful chant. No place for it. As bad as the Munich cr@p, if not worse.

singing an obviously fictional chant about the scum manager and his predecessor being kiddy fiddlers is worse than signing about a plane full of people who crashed and died? ok then

You are confusing hypothetical with imagined. To belittle someone or something for something unfounded - and frankly compartive with sensationlist News of T' World headlines is very low indeed. Both are equally stupid chants. Imagine of someone came to City, or watched the opposition or was at a station or in the vicinity of these chants - and they had been sexually abused or victims of abuse, or affected by the same. The media have given enough coverage of high profile cases, debate over the real cases and the pure allegations by fraudsters and attention seekers.... then along come the fans of one of the biggest clubs in Europe and sing drivel about Paedophilia.

I don't think the subject has a place in football chants.

On a side note, have a gander at this read - open up your minds a bit, then create a proper chant.

In an ideal world Man City would win every game 5-0, the supporters would all stay til the end to clap the team off and that the songs sung in the ground are all of an Edward Elgar type quality with only pro-city sentiment.

Yes the chant is simple,
Yes the chant mentions United Staff
Yes the chant mentions a taboo subject.
Yes some people would deem it to be offensive

The problem with offending someone is that everybody has different boundaries on what they would deem offensive. Unfortunately the way society is heading is that a day will come where we will all have to live our lives by the standards of the most easily offended, when in fact they probably represent such a ridiculously small proportion of society.

To take an example, think of a joke that really makes you laugh, then think about whether that joke is mocking or scapegoating something, what if society then deemed a joke like that too offensive, to the point where it is illegal to tell it. Do people really want to be heading in that direction in society?

All good points but I think GX is suggesting we spend more time singing about City rather than that shower of shite from the swamp?

Bingo!

"Harder than Japp Stam",which self respecting Blue sings that shit?!

Oh I agree entirely with that sentiment.

My points were aimed at those who seem unable to rationalise that some people, whether right or wrong might want to sing something else. Also that bowing down to those who find the smallest things offensive would send us down a slippery slope IMO. I can understand why some people might take offense at this chant, but I don't think they are in the majority and I don't think they should be pandered to.

I've got this funny feeling that at the next home game there will be loads of anti Utd songs...as usual....always is.

That is because most blues in those areas of the ground that are most vocal really don't like Utd.

We have too few songs as it is. Take Utd ones away and we're fucked.
