Uncontacted Tribes

I doubt there are any who think they are the only people. Those on the video have moved further in due to the loggers. I read somewhere that they have metal pots that could have come from other people.
I would be certain though that what we take for granted would be very scary for them. I'd possibly guess that they thought that plane was a bird. But who knows.

It was surreal to see their reactions and the way they watched it fly past. I have no doubt that trying to contact them would be dangerous too. Not just because of disease.
I remember seeing something about an island in the Indian ocean with an un-contacted tribe. When two fishermen got drunk their boat drifted to the island where the natives killed them.

Amazing still with all the globalisation that these people still survive. Truly amazing.

Interesting topic this.

I had a thought though, we talk about 'uncontacted tribes' and immediately our thoughts are drawn to the Amazon. The Amazon is vast and contains lots of unexplored areas but it isn't the most unexplored place on Earth. That title belongs to the Pacific Ocean. So is it not possible that there is an island somewhere out there in the Pacific that man once stumbled upon (maybe a former land bridge that is no more say) and nobody has visited since?

I honestly don't know if this is a valid possibility, interested in hearing your thoughts on it.

Thought ALL the Islands in the Pacific had been mapped and nearly all had been visited. Could be wrong though, maybe there is a King Kong Island out there!

Well they've all been mapped thanks to satellite imaging. However, I don't know the extent to which they have all been explored, especially those covered by rain forest.

I'm pretty sure they can't all have been thoroughly excavated surely?

Are there still tribes out there that have never come across other human beings before?

Are they completely unaware of what and how the modern world works.

Imagine it, you are pratically an alien inhabitant of earth.

This website suggest there are still tribes out there yet to be contacted.

Fascinating.
I signed the petition, very interesting stuff.

Indeed, it's human nature to be on the defensive when we can't comprehend something, so to come into contact with them would be dangerous, plus you could see the weapons they had on the video.

But it is amazing as you say how good there survival skills must be, they more than likely thought the plane was some sort of god or something, fascinating stuff.

Very fascinating, but what got me was, while in Honduras for some conservation work in the cloud rain forests, I stayed in a mountain village with locals who rarely, if ever, left it during there entire lives, but were well aware of other people because of the scientists presence and you can see the nearest city. However, despite this they still assumed that the rest of the world was covered in rainforest. So even relatively contacted people still have only a small idea of the world outside there own.
