What I'd like to know is, how come the idea of an uncontacted tribe of humans is concidered plausible and beyond mockery, yet Yetis or Bigfoot or whatever are not?

Yeah i know. Look at the Ancient Alien thread (pg3) , i posted a video about it in there after i made this post. I was going to go on about how we could of made the same mistaken but then i chose to stay on topic and just ask a question. :)

Very fascinating, but what got me was, while in Honduras for some conservation work in the cloud rain forests, I stayed in a mountain village with locals who rarely, if ever, left it during there entire lives, but were well aware of other people because of the scientists presence and you can see the nearest city. However, despite this they still assumed that the rest of the world was covered in rainforest. So even relatively contacted people still have only a small idea of the world outside there own.

tbh, parts of Oldham are very similar.

Thought ALL the Islands in the Pacific had been mapped and nearly all had been visited. Could be wrong though, maybe there is a King Kong Island out there!

Well they've all been mapped thanks to satellite imaging. However, I don't know the extent to which they have all been explored, especially those covered by rain forest.

I'm pretty sure they can't all have been thoroughly excavated surely?

...they've not much chance of thoroughly mappin or excavating the ones still submerged like both ends of Lumeria which new zealand and oz will have to make way for again eventually !

It's a fascinating subject. I'm sure there has to be some groups out there that just don't know others exist.
