Under the Radar: 3 Big Things We're Likely to Forget

I had a few things to add to this but forgot most of them reading whatever that is that happened above me, but I think Liverpool lost the league as lucas was coming off against chelsea. It was obvious at that point willian was coming on, and since then rodgers has seemed completely out of his depth. There's playing openly/aggressively and there's ignoring common sense.

sorry to interrupt the fighting.

What you've said there is perfectly reasonable and I have absolutely no qualms with it. You're absolutely right about my over-eagerness and that I'm over-dramatic. You even said I wasn't alone in the "pain in the arse" category.

But I feel as though I am when it comes to you and I. The words you use to try and argue with me are often unwarranted. I might be a pain in the arse but to call me a "dullard" and various other things isn't fair and can cause those "public meltdowns" you mentioned. Surely you can appreciate where I'm coming from here?

Any overriding reason why you can't take this to PM's Bob, other than that by doing that then you wouldn't get the attention you clearly crave?
Only you seem to be singlehandedly derailing your own thread faster than a tube driver on ketamine here, and making yourself look rather foolish in the process.

That right there is a thread saver

Almost worth opening this thread just for that

We won the league because we were the only side capable of seeing it through. I always thought we were the best side and that we had the best squad. We had the actual experience of winning a league embedded in this team and it counted for everything down the home straight. Imperious is how I would describe us. I honestly expect this team and this manager to go on to great things now.

Depending on how the summer goes things will be a lot harder next year. I personally believe for the first time in about 8 years Wenger actually has money to spend, Mourinho is probably the best manager in the world at putting a team together and will put together another team. Then United will have no European distractions.

This season all of the top teams apart from City had massive holes in their squad. Next season they may fix them, but then again Ferguson left the midfield problem for near 8 years.

But City will surely invest heavily as well, and they clearly have a top manager in charge. I'm sure Chelsea will be more of a force if they can sign a Costa or a Falcao, but I just get the feeling that the dressing room is already starting to turn against Mourinho. It usually takes him a couple years before everyone starts hating him but maybe the turnaround will be faster this time because he's been at Chelsea before. Here's to hoping. I'm expecting that the race for top 4 will be far tighter next year, with several teams gunning for first I think you'll have to aim for the title in order to achieve top 4. However, I think City will probably still have the best squad next time around, even if other teams improve and will still be favorites.

It's much harder to improve a complete squad than an incomplete one. The thread in the transfer forums shows how few players are available that would improve City's first 11. Will see what the summer brings, but I don't see the Chelsea squad turning on Mourinho at all. If anything apart from Hazard the core of the squad are completely loyal to him: Cahill, Cesar, Willian, Oscar, Ramires and Matic seem like big Mourinho fans. Luiz is likely to be shown the door in the summer.

I also would be very worried if Arsenal got Martinez/Lars Bender and a top striker.

In my opinion City and United were around the same level last season, but the signings this year and the harmony in the squad has really taken them forward. I think I said City would win the league last year, but that was a big IF on Garcia (I had not seen) being as good as Fernadinho turned out to be.

Fernandinho>Barry
Navas>Sinclair
Negredo>Balotelli
Jovetic (worry about injury prone)>Tevez

Despite Barry being a very good player I think the Fernandinho and Sinclair upgrades were the most vital.

Said it a few times and I'll say it again, come the crunch, we were simply quietly consistent, despite our early away firm and flaying of some teams earlier in the season.

Pellers seems to have helped us focus on the important stuff, and the 2012 experience meant we were always going to put in a good finish if we were there or thereabouts. When it's so close, you can put money on somebody blinking - and a possible 15 games won in a row was the most likely place for that blink to occur.

Another under the radar thing is that for a significant period we were 'behind' but this was due to our games in hand.

This distorted the table.

Imo however, the single biggest under the radar thing this season has been Utd's completely unpredictable fall from grace.

Imagine had we finished 7th some 22 points behind the Champions?

The media would have ejaculated itself to death.

Good post but Jovetic isn't better than Tevez.
