Tevez at his best was certainly better than Jovetic, though Jovetic is still young.Stoned Rose said:supercrystal7 said:It's much harder to improve a complete squad than an incomplete one. The thread in the transfer forums shows how few players are available that would improve City's first 11. Will see what the summer brings, but I don't see the Chelsea squad turning on Mourinho at all. If anything apart from Hazard the core of the squad are completely loyal to him: Cahill, Cesar, Willian, Oscar, Ramires and Matic seem like big Mourinho fans. Luiz is likely to be shown the door in the summer.Ronuja said:But City will surely invest heavily as well, and they clearly have a top manager in charge. I'm sure Chelsea will be more of a force if they can sign a Costa or a Falcao, but I just get the feeling that the dressing room is already starting to turn against Mourinho. It usually takes him a couple years before everyone starts hating him but maybe the turnaround will be faster this time because he's been at Chelsea before. Here's to hoping. I'm expecting that the race for top 4 will be far tighter next year, with several teams gunning for first I think you'll have to aim for the title in order to achieve top 4. However, I think City will probably still have the best squad next time around, even if other teams improve and will still be favorites.
I also would be very worried if Arsenal got Martinez/Lars Bender and a top striker.
In my opinion City and United were around the same level last season, but the signings this year and the harmony in the squad has really taken them forward. I think I said City would win the league last year, but that was a big IF on Garcia (I had not seen) being as good as Fernadinho turned out to be.
Fernandinho>Barry
Navas>Sinclair
Negredo>Balotelli
Jovetic (worry about injury prone)>Tevez
Despite Barry being a very good player I think the Fernandinho and Sinclair upgrades were the most vital.
Good post but Jovetic isn't better than Tevez.
I saw quite a bit of Jovetic and rated him when he was younger, but then he got injured and I stopped watching him. He has not played much this season, but been impressed with him from the times he has been fit.
At the moment I think the gap is much smaller and would take Jovetic based on performance, but probably Tevez on a stand alone season, because Jovetic is always injured.
