Underrated albums.

Nowhere near his best but an enjoyable listen.

In the interests of pedantry, it's "hoist" not hung - ;-)

It also says it under-performed and didn't sell very well hence, at the time of release, being underrated.

Hoist it is!

Fine, it may well have been underrated or unsuccessful on release but we are decades on from that and it's no longer underrated. However as the OP didn't set any rules, you pays your money and takes your pick (or is it choice?).

Yes - Drama.

Jon Anderson had left the group and Drama was a departure from the usual Yes fare.

And yet - magnificent. One of my very favorite Yes albums.

I know there are at least a couple of other Cheap Trick fans on here .... At Budokan is their famous live album (Intended for Japanese only release, but ended up the album to break them in the US too) and rated often as up there with the best of live records.

But for me, the later, Music For Hangovers beats it hands down. Hugely underrated even among CT fans.

PS, off to see them at the Arena next Weds (supporting Def Leppard, and I will be back in the pub before they get onstage) Then their mush anticipated gig at The Cavern Club on the following Sunday.

You ought to see Def Leppard. Great band live especially as it's a greatest hit set.

I have In Color by Cheap Trick. Quite like it.

Have seen them a couple of times mate. Once in their very early days at UMIST, and again at the Apollo when CT supported them again. As much as I share Joe Elliot's taste in music (CT, Mott, Bowie, Queen, The Cars etc) I just cannot bear his voice in Lepps. Ironically, I like it when he sings with his sideline band, The Down 'n Outz, when they cover Mott songs, and he actually sings properly and doesn't screech, lol.

In Color album has great songs, let down by poor production. They re-recorded it a few years ago with Steve Albini producing, and it sounds so much better. Strangely it never got released, but 'In Color The Albini Sessions' is out there ...
