Are we discussing underrated albums or undersold ones? Album sales have fuck all to do with quality as you well know, U2 could probably release a recording of Bono farting into a mic for an hour and it would be a bestseller.

I dont know what an underrated album is anymore
Then again I haven't listened to any rock or pop music for about 25 years so it probably doesn't matter.

First Album I bought on CD was Spike by Elvis Costello, some well written, observant music, especially Veronica and Tramp the Dirt Down, the latter was controversial due it being written about what Costello would do when Thatcher popped her cloggs.
