Underrated albums.

Barclay James Harvest - Octoberon

Underrated band from Oldham, with several underrated albums, they were huge in Germany drawing massive crowds but ignored in the UK, US and pretty much everywhere.

I remember them pretty well. They had a number of hits in the US like "Walk On The Ocean" and "All I Want." I mean, considering so many bands looked and sounded like Toad The Wet Sprocket... thats pretty decent. There were so many great bands back in the 90's that are almost forgotten today. Like Throwing Muses. Whew. There is a band nobody remembers.

Leppard are not and never have been a great live band. They have improved over the years and are decent but not great. They do have plenty of top notch material to play but they remain, imo, a better studio band than live act. That said, I will be going to see them (and Cheap Trick) next week.

Are we discussing underrated albums or undersold ones? Album sales have fuck all to do with quality as you well know, U2 could probably release a recording of Bono farting into a mic for an hour and it would be a bestseller.

TBF, I'm probably overstating it a bit but the album didn't exactly do badly critically or commercially. Everything they do will forever live in the shadow of Ten, which is a bona fide classic.

My point is how can you say an album that sold many millions is underrated?
It's the great albums that sold fuck all that are underrated.
