From the BBC website...

"As a percentage of turnover, Pogba cost much less than United's signings of Denis Law and Bryan Robson from Torino and West Brom in 1962 and 1981 respectively.

Relative to their latest turnover figure of £102.4m, Crystal Palace's £27m purchase of Christian Benteke last month cost more than United spent to sign Pogba, given this week they confirmed annual revenue of £513m."

So he didn't really cost £89M you see but all of our players actually always cost what they cost. Just so you know. YCNMIU.

That is the best yet.

Justifying our Paul's fee by comparing it to one from 54 years ago.

Being as objective as possible, anyone agree Mourinho is in the early stages of irreversible decline? Not just last season's Stamford Bridge fiasco but also his agricultural approach to harnessing £400m of "talent".

The press still build him up to be one of the top two PL managers. I've a feeling he will fall well down the pecking order over the course of this season.

Their problem is, where do they go after mourinho?

Does anybody remember the "offensive terminology" I used in this thread yesterday? The post had been pulled but I don't think it was any worse than other insults aimed at our ridiculous neighbours.
Perhaps the prefects were getting bored.

I said it yesterday and completely agree.

Both he and Ferguson benefited from not only ridiculously better squads early on in the PL, they also benefited from teams literally shitting themselves when it came to games against them and literally writing off those games and points.

The league then changed as money really came into it. Clubs improved their squads and managers thought fuck it, lets have a go.

Both could no longer cope as the usual weekly walk over making them out to be some sort of genius just didn't happen any longer and tactically, they didn't have any answers either.

Mourinho's last 30 games in the PL form is almost relegation stuff, its appalling given the players at his disposal but his tactics are defend and hope that a bit of individual quality gets him through and it just doesn't cut it any longer.

PM sent.

I wonder if he looked at Rooney's fee in line with turnover, or Ferdinand, or di Maria? Probably not.
