It was like that long before the Pisscan took over, he merely made it worse. I remember in the 60's and the 70's the rags would kick and punch opposition players and ref's appeared to turn a blind eye. I remember Crerand being a particularly nasty piece of work with his sly digs and his "It-wasn't-me, ref" act whenever he got a talking to.
The Pisscan took cheating, fouling and diving to depths never seen before in the English game (and yes, I include the dirty Leeds side from the 60's/70's). Nobody can tell me he didn't encourage the likes of Ashley Young, Shrek, Ronaldo and others to throw themselves onto the ground in the opponent's penalty area as often as they could. Or try and seriously injure a fellow professional or get an opponent sent off for no reason.
They are scum. Always have been, always will be.
