We all saw this coming, so how the fuck didn't the united board?
It's all about the short-term, financial impact with them now.

High profile manager - guarantees exposure & column inches.
High profile players - commercial opportunities plus keeps them relevant (in their view) in the eyes of fans and the media.

They realised that Moyes was Baconface's way of sticking up two fingers to the Glazers so he went. Turtle had some credibility as a manager but even in a season where most "top" teams performed poorly he couldn't get them in the top four so he went.

Peg came in among great excitement that they finally had the right manager, that would be winning things for them. But he was already damaged goods and the more perceptive knew if would be all about him rather than about the team. And so it's proved & I really don't think he'll see the season out.

Their squad is a mess, with so few players who you'd guarantee a starting place to. Pogba should be one of those but he's hardly hit the ground running. If Donut Dave goes then they're truly screwed. Apart from him, possibly Mata and (in theory) Pogba, there's not one player you look at and think "Yeah I'd have them in our squad".

Bailly - might develop into a good defender in time. Might not.
Jones - a Championship standard player.
Rojo - utter dogshit.
Smalling - OK at best but very inconsistent.
Blind - if he's the answer, what's the question?
Shaw - fat and dogshit. Navas ran him ragged.
Darmian - see Rojo.
Valencia - technically good but getting on.
Schweinsteiger - too old and frozen out
Schneiderlin - not a patch on the player he was at Southampton and peripheral.
Pogba - ludicrously over-priced plus they've no idea what to do with him.
Depay - who?
Martial - initial promise not sustained.
Fellaini - very limited player.
Carrick - good player but old and can only do so much.
Herrera - OK but not really proved himself.
Mata - about the only one who can make things happen.
Lingard - OK. Might be quite good if he can sustain his form.
Young - like Valencia but not as good.
Rooney - finished.
Ibrahimovic - great player but getting on and nothing around him to help him out.
Rashford - looks good so far but can't carry them on his own. Plus their wonderkids have a habit of fizzling out.

And that's after spending £400m in the last 3 seasons. It's an absolute fucking mess (thank goodness) and they need to start again from the bottom up. Let's hope though that they continue to throw good money after bad.

City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs clearly have better players and better managers(with marbles in tact, of course). Everton, Southampton, Leicester, maybe West Ham can all beat them on their day as Watford did

They are fucked. They have impatient sponsors and fans which will not allow slow growth and rebuild, they will continue to spend money on fads who will soon fuck off to easy street, like di Maris did. Pogba won't hang around. The most expensive player in the world can surely not play in the Europa League, or no Europe at all 2 seasons on the trot?

Which is why Raiola pushed that deal through, big wedge going to the rags and another big wedge when he asks to leave,IMO.

Everything they do is for the wrong reasons, that's why it isn't working.

They got Mourinho, after rejecting him for being a twat in 2013, because we got Guardiola and the dippers had Klopp. So they appointed their manager based on someone else's actions.

They got Ibrahimovic because Mourinho wanted a winner. Someone who'd bring arrogance back into the squad. But they didn't think about how playing him would simultaneously displace their captain from the team and force their only good player in 2016 onto the left wing - which in turn meant dropping their only good player from the first half of last season, Martial.

They bought Pogba, because he was the other world renowned star who was willing to go to them because of his history there. Not because he'd seamlessly fit into their midfield, or because they were building a team around him. Just because they needed a star.

I'm not sure he will leave no matter how badly they do. They can't let him, as it would be devastating for them.

Once you sign that deal he has to know he's tied to them for at least 4 years.

They won't sell him for a loss and if he plays well to be worth Real Madrid buying for more than £94m then he's probably dragged them to a few trophies and he'll be happy there.

Brilliant. PMSL.
Great post and the best thing about it is the majority of their fans still can't see it, been arguing with the office prick this morning, told him they've no chance of top 4 now.
"Why? it's only October"
Told him if you're 8 points of top and 7 off 4th now, how many will you be behind in March?
They just don't see it, still think they're going to win every week like they used to yet this is 3 years + that they've been shit, you think it'd dawn on some of them by now but doesn't seem to be.

So glad we have Pep not Peg. They are poles apart.

The guy is living off past glories, ruined Chelsea and is now doing the same with the scum whilst dragging them down in the press.

Zero class. Long may it continue you scummy fuckers.

TBH, (standfast the shit level of football they have been playing), the club is being atrociously run from top to bottom and considers commercial success greater than footballing success.

If Moanio goes (which I think he will), their plight will worsen considerably IMO. What right top drawer manager would want them on their CV.

I'd be very surprised if they didn't have two fluffers on permanent duty round at Pochetino's pad.

Haha,i wonder if maureen has been told to bring him back
Talksport making excuses for him saying he needs more than one window,he really doesn't,look what pep has done with his 1 window, maureen wanted to show off and get beaky and pog when he needed team players

Rooney back to Everton? I don't even think Rooney can recapture any magic, he looks done. If he's not retired at the end of the 17/18 season I'd be surprised
